There is no club in the country which has a clearer, more consistent model, that’s been in place for over a decade. Any manager that comes here and expects anything different is stupid (or perhaps a remarkable optimist). Many, many managers would love to work in such a system.
Yes - I've read it. It's clear he's leaving. But the precise point that the contract is terminated isn't clear. But who knows what the deal is - perhaps TB and PB are either (a) glad to be shot of him, or (b) happy to give up on compensation to expedite things and/or effectively say "Thank You"...
It hasn't been terminated YET (wording is rather vague "after the Manchester Utd match"). The club statement also says "We have mutually agreed to end Roberto’s contract at a time that suits both parties..." It doesn't actually say that the contract is terminated now (or tomorrow)...or infact...
Those odds are bizarre - surely Lopetegui has already agreed to join West Ham, and the chances of Iraola leaving Bournemouth must be close to zero. And Kompany is particularly underwhelming, compared to the likes of Fonseca and Hoeness. Plus - who is putting money on Corberan????!
I am early 60s....likewise, I was really gutted when Potter left. I know this has probably been coming for a few months, but I'm still sad. RDZ is an amazing personality, and a fantastic coach. The football has been sensational at times. Although sad, I'm also immensely grateful for the past...
And remember, WE are the elite, the "establishment", etc, etc. They (Rishi, Boris, Rees-Mogg and all their cronies) have managed to convince millions of ordinary folk that university lecturers, judges, doctors, Guardian-readers, climate campaigners, the BBC, artists, equal-rights activists, the...
I think Stuttgart now DO have the money - they've recently qualified for the Champions League, so if the loan to buy deal is only circa £10m, it's peanuts
One of my biggest bug-bears with VAR is that the people that actually make the effort to go to a game are the least informed. Take Gross's "goal" against Villa a couple of weeks ago. I received text messages from friends watching at home, telling me it was offside, possibly a minute or more...
I agree it would be slightly annoying. But I’ll weigh that against three amazing nights (in Marseille, Athens and Amsterdam), some truly exceptional football this season, beating your lot 4-1, and seeing the gradual emergence of a new group of young players (Hinchelwood, Verbruggen, Barco...
Very enjoyable game. We could easily have got something from it, but hey ho.
Barco was excellent - what a player. And Baleba gave a nice little cameo off the bench - he keeps getting better.
How has Cucurella turned himself into such a vile pr*ck? He seemed a decent, down-to-earth sort of guy...
I very much doubt Palace could stop Glasner leaving - they might be able to enforce some sort of reasonable notice period in the UK, but if Glasner wants to return to Germany I’m not sure there’s much they could do to stop him. Sure, there would be compensation - but it would need to be a...
