Only attend a few away games and always as a guest of home ST holder. I am not in 1901 but understand many original perks have been removed. ( surprised there were not more compaints about this ) and the club always with an eye on renewals would understandibly be reluctant to remove anymore. There is a considerable expense and commitment to join 1901 and for this needs to be more than just a nice lounge and a program
How does the STH get ‘guest’ away tickets ?

Just speed skimmed through the fans forum. Not quite so extreme on the cringeometer as some in the past. That woman complaining because little Johnny doesn't get a chance for a players shirt often enough was a decent effort though.

Kudos to the young man who spoke confidently when asking Barber about FA Cup replays. Without stating outright, it was very apparent which way he voted. His response was pretty contemptuous to anyone outside the Premier League. Unfortunately with these events there isn't an opportunity to challenge an answer. A suitable retort from anyone might have been; "don't you consider it undemocratic and unrepresentative that this decision was taken solely by premier league clubs?"

PB once claimed to have read Build a Bonfire to get a feel of the club and its roots. Like many persons and organisations, success can cloud the memory of more humble times in the past.
You're rather disrespectfully referring to a cringeometer for a forum you didn't attend. Had you bothered to go, or done more than just 'speed skimmed' the video, you would realise that you could have made the 'suitable retort' had you attended. You might have also read the room and realised that the excellent Johnny Cantor managed the event brilliantly to keep the questions focused towards the opportunity to ask questions to an elite manager. Having said that, I'm sure PB would have openly answered your question had you bothered to go and ask.

I think there’s to much fluff and bluster going on in these exchanges, and point scoring.

For me it’s simply about away tickets and the allowed abuse of it by some (not all).

I think the club is falling short in a number of areas and it’s a massive shame.

One of my best mates is a 1901 member and he understands my PoV - he’s been there since Falmer opened and enjoys it. I understand it’s tricky to not things personally but the 1901 terms and conditions are different to other STH on this point but it’s not a general slur.
I certainly understand yours, and @jackalbion, POV, it’s just that I don’t agree with it. I have attempted to explain my reasons and have not been trying to score points. If it has come across this way I apologize.

no problem.
I don’t think there’s an issue between supporters who simply get their tickets via the loyalty points scheme.
But there’s a squeeze on that due to different factors and, for me, if PB and the club make statements or change policy then they need to do it as they suggested - better and fairer.

I worry about the way the club is going in terms of supporters and our varying value to the club. and then there’s just things like the sackings, suspensions & investigations of some staff, Derek Chapman leaving (being removed from?) the Board is a big miss (as we become more corporate), we’re pushing back against the regulator, the FAB are getting fobbed off, we don’t respect the IFO or the view or opinion of lower league clubs (the FA cup replay vote). Freedom of speech is curtailed too - the club do not want or expect criticism.

I love BHAFC but I separate my allegiance to the team from the club. I think our history and remarkable rise from those dark days is incredible. The gratitude I have towards TB is huge. But, I do believe business can be run in a good way. Not just one way.

Cheers

Good point. I’d forgotten about that slightly strange spate of departures.

I reckon the forum was called to show RDZ the love from the fans first hand. Allegedly meeting held with RDZ today.

PB answers questions but he’s quite simply a suit. Nothing more, nothing less.

No real great surprise re the board. A lot of time has passed, the business is now significantly larger in terms of revenue , size etc so requires different skill sets. Overtime he’s also brought in his own associates from other ventures he runs.

Agree re FAB and Regulator but I imagine Tony Bloom probably thinks I’ve built this from the ground up with my own cash, I don’t need outside ‘forces’ telling me what to do. We’re kind of a special case given our ownership compared to most and been dragged along with it

Is it fair that Tony Bloom always somehow manages to get a ticket in the away end for Brentford away?
Well, he’s taking the piss, at a minimum he should put his directors box allocation back into the Albion allocation.

Maybe a new experience “Matthew I don’t like your TONE” £375 +vat with the freedom to use a number of phrases (pre agreed with PB OBE) at the directors table.

Never misses a game though. Give the man some credit.

Build a Bonfire and Fans United - it might not happen to us again but it’s happening to other clubs & fans. But it’s about having a voice too.

Fans have been banned due to comments on social media. Not for anything illegal, just for offending the club.

On here is ‘monitored’.

I’m not being paranoid, it’s what happens.

Any examples of what people have been banned for saying on social media ? Context is important - but still not sure exactly of your point or what Derek Chapman leaving the board has to do with it

The lengthy ban for the Twitter user who criticised the Saudi regime. The police confirmed no racist behaviour, the club did not agree.

Derek Chapman - after 25 years maybe it’s time but he’s been there through everything in our recent history. Hopefully we’ll get another non exec director who has a rich history with the club. But we might not.
