    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

Sadly this doesn't appear to be an option. Can you image Russia's great Tsar conceding an inch of stolen land in negotiations ?

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

The piece from Kallas is incredibly perceptive. For eons I've been aware of the fact that Putin lives to de-stabilise the west. I just couldn't connect the dots, in order to establish his modus operandi with regards to having troops on the ground in Syria and in Africa. Now it all makes perfect...

Here ex husband, Ruston Kelly is a fantastic singer songwriter. His ‘Dying star’ album is superb. Very Jackson Browne. I saw Ruston Kelly supporting some band in Brighton a few years ago.

[News] Attempted assassination of Slovakian MP

This guy and Orban of Hungary have succeeded in diluting NATO's response to Putin's genocide. How many lives have been lost as a result of them being Putin sympathisers ? Sorry, but he's just collateral damage, in a war that is surreptitiously engulfing all of us.

    [Sussex] Waverley Paddle steamer

Bozza is right. The coach transports passengers from Worthing Pier to Porsmouth for the sailing. Can't say that I find the prospect of a coach journey from Worthing to Portsmouth that inspiring, but the time on the Waverley and a steam railway experience at Swanage should be pretty good.

    [Sussex] Waverley Paddle steamer

I don't know if anyone on NSC is interested, but the South Coast dates for sailings have recently been announced. Shoreham is 13 September, but I'll be abroad. The misses and I have booked the Portsmouth sailing on 25 September, combining it with a ride on the Swanage Heritage Railway. Hopefully...

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

You are spot on regarding your observations relating to Orban. Hungary is desperate for foreign investment. Apparently swathes of Budapest has been bought by Dubai, and last week they welcomed a deputation from China, and secured Chinese investment in rail and energy. I thought the Benny Hill...

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

I’m in Budapest on holiday. I was disappointed by the lack of Ukrainian flags on display, but this afternoon there was a march attended by loads of Ukrainian people, dressed in national costume. They gathered outside St Stephen’s Basilica, and played their traditional music, sang and listened to...

[Misc] Big reduction in property price

There’s absolutely no confidence out there. We’re still reeling from and awaiting the ‘benefits’ of Brexit ! Added to that you have interest rate hikes, surreptitious changes to employment law and pension taxation, combined with decades of governmental ineptitude and self interest. A general...
