[Cricket] The village / amateur 2024 CRICKET thread...

The Ring isn't a shabby place to play. Use to play against Redhill in the Slazenger / Kookaburra League before Caterham went into the Fullers League. Many years ago (my memory might be wrong) was something like the Top Deck (canned shandy) advert filmed at Quality Street). I don't play anymore...

Lovely ground at Quality Street. Only played at Merstham once on my days at Caterham.

[Music] Eurovision Song Contest 2024 ***Official Thread & Sweepstake**

Nurse Gladys is in Malmo for the event, she couldn't get Final tickets but has tickets for the Final Dress Rehearsal. I was subjected to both Semi Finals, for me the music is a bit samey every year however the performances get better. She rates Croatia's entry, might put 50p on it.

In my day bowling straight military medium I would loved to have bowled on that green top. Use to take all my wickets in May and then get twatted round the park from June onwards. Happy days, sadly far too old and fat now.

[Albion] Roberto De Zerbi: "Now we don't have high motivation"

For a while I've thought some of RDZ's comments have been lost in translation. Now I've just got no idea what he talks about. I've liked him from day one and felt the player's and fans alike totally bought into his philosophy of the game. Once again I've got no idea what's going on. Just back...

[Football] The Non-League Football Thread- 2023/24 Edition

My local team AFC Whyteleafe gained promotion to Step 5 last week. Today had free admission and an attendance of over 800. Finished the season with an 8 - 1 win. Great effort by The Leafe .

    [News] Gideon Falter

Just about sums up my original post. Like you say about fans that 99% are trouble free, I'm sure the same percentage of police just want to do the job.

    [News] Gideon Falter

To be honest most police officers I know really don't want to be at games and like you just want to get home at the end of a shift. I'm sure most would rather be on the beat as opposed to being at protests or football. With so much scrutiny and anti police attitudes what chance do they have. I...

[Politics] If there were a General Election tomorrow poll

Probably the wrong approach but our current MP has been a great constituency MP, when I had a personal issue on a financial matter she resolved it and even took the time out to ring me herself twice. Service like that gets my vote.

    [Football] Not good enough

The two recent away games against Brentford and Burnley which seem to have angered most people for me we didn't play that badly in open play we just lack that final ball in the final third. We've had to play Pedro out of position and really he is our main threat up top. We miss Mitoma and March...

    [Misc] Retirement

On average how much do you need to retire? I've read the average couple will be comfortable on £43k pa. Got no mortgage which obviously helps. I am planning to take out an Equity Release when my wife and my money runs out.

    [Football] England v Brazil

A lot of Dunk bashing tonight. His footballing skills have improved no end under RDZ, he's a much better footballer now, however the down side is very little safety first, always tries to be positive with the ball and keep the game moving which unfortunately can lead to mistakes. It happens.

[Albion] Info for AS Roma fans for Thursday

Can totally understand the coach companies position but it has forced the hands of the authorities to put them onto public transport. So glad I go via Lewes, Brighton Station is going to be busy.

[Albion] Info for AS Roma fans for Thursday

So is the suggestion that it is the bus company and not the authorities that have made the decision to let the Roma supporters travel on public transport. Ridiculous, I'd make the buggers walk.

What happened with Marseille? They were normal buses in Italy.

[Albion] Info for AS Roma fans for Thursday

I really don't understand why the authorities would change arrangements from the previous three games. With the exception of Amsterdam we have been treated like cattle but just accepted it, why would we treat Roma fans any different, especially with the reputation they have. I simply don't get it.
