Potter is a decent manager. But as a club and a culture we have outgrown him. We a trying to progress not regress.
I can’t see Tony going back after what RDZ offered in comparison to potter.
Don’t be fooled people. Potter failed to get us out of so many slumps. He needed lockdown to pick up...
PB and TB have both gone on record as saying RDZ took us to the next level. Re-hiring potter is essentially taking us back a level.
It goes against everything our club bangs on about. Succession planning, gradual improvement etc
Regardless of the links I think it’s safe to assume that TB didn’t expect Man U or Chelsea to be targeting a manager from the championship. They’ve don’t normally do that.
Don’t think TB anticipated Man U or Chelsea playing manager merry go round at the same time as us.
Given they are a d we can’t compete with them we should just move on to other targets. Who that might be I have no idea. Anyone but potter though.
I don’t want Martin.
The bit that concerns me is that I could very much see TB doing a deal that would hire him as manager as long as we can absorb his academy’s d foundation into ours.
I’m all in too
When describing is own playing career he said.
“Our goalkeeper has a friend who thinks of me when he has sex with his girlfriend. He thinks of me to delay ejaculation. That’s how unsexy my style of play is.”
yep ...... with sporadic titbits from PB saying 'things things take time.....we need to make the right decision'. Even though we are apparently masters at 'succession planning' and already 'know who the next manager might be'.
I get why their board would do this. It a momentum thing as much as it is about protecting themselves from fans dissatisfaction.
Imagine if we let Hughton go the week after we were promoted and replaced him with another manager and then subsequently go relegated. We'd have gone ballistic...
agree.
it might as well read:
1.2m basic salary (per year)
5m PL survival bonus (each year)
10m FA cup win bonus (each year)
20m white xmas bonus (each year)
3m going unbeaten all season (each year)
Total package 156.8 million.

I reminded my son of what I muttered every so often last season. We embarrassed opposition. We looked so so good and I feared that it would be the best we’d ever see. This season has been a big step down. Blame the club policy, blame injuries, blame European football. I don’t care.
