[Albion] Anyone else have the sinking feeling that this is Gross’s last game for us too?

I would expect the club to sign him on a longer contract with a view to coaching. Especially after Lallana leaves. Can't see anyone offering a few that would tempt us to sell - he is one of the top midfielders in the EPL and will command a big fee.

[Football] Clubs to Vote on VAR removal

Because the standard of referees in the epl is way behind other countries. Increasing the pipeline will increase competition and increase standards.

[Football] Clubs to Vote on VAR removal

It would definitely help attract more people, and if there are more people and more competition for jobs that should drive a higher standard. It also feels a bit weird to have people on £100k a year lay down the law for people paid £100k a week. Is that not a bit wrong? If we expect the players...

To address the pipeline issue maybe pay them more? If you compare the money the players are on with the referees the referees are paid a tiny fraction of the amount. Pay them well and put in place rigorous fitness and training regimes. It will help a lot.

    [Football] You're the Ref (again)

Surely if the officials are doing their jobs the substitution would not be allowed to happen until the check is completed. All the officials in the ground would know they are looking at something so the game pauses. That means no substitution would occur until the check is completed.

[Football] Clubs to Vote on VAR removal

I don't know how many times it needs to be said but: the solution is better referees and officials. Pay them more and invest in training and have some actual accountability for mistakes. It's EPL level soccer with part time standard officiating. They are not fit for purpose currently. It doesn't...

[Football] Clubs to Vote on VAR removal

Those stats are not the right ones. Using them in this context is essentially trolling by that Twitter account. All that shows is decisions overturned by VAR. What it does not illustrate is incorrect decisions by VAR - like various incorrect lines for offside. Inconsistent decisions like today's...

Lol. Ok. Explain all the decisions they get then. Explain the lack of punishments for financial cheating.

No they can't. They are corrupt in favor of the big 6 where the money is.

Defense ability can take experience and time. He may develop into a very good fullback yet.

Not so sure. Are you suggesting VAR gave the Adingra penalty and the ref ignored it? Can't see why hey wouldn't give it. There are countless examples of the same thing being given as a penalty.

Hard to take them when the referee doesn't give you them. I would bet if Gross scored his chance they would have poured over VAR to find a way to disallow it. The referring from the off gave a clear indication of there only being one result today. It's so obvious.

How many times did Kane do that and get a penalty. Or countless other man city man utd Liverpool arsenal etc etc players do that and get a penalty. What's the e difference?

It probably harms his "pay" to book them.

The way certain teams are allowed to break financial rules without punishment and somehow get all the big decisions in their favor really needs investigating as it is starting to stink.

Penalty for a big 6 team. This really needs to be stamped out.
