    [Albion] The Potter in/out thread

Being objective, Potter gave RDZ a brilliant foundation to work with. We didn't really want Potter to go, until he left us, and he's now learnt some experience managing big players in big clubs. He chooses good coaching staff and tactically isn't a million miles from how we like to see the team...

[Albion] Oh dear, what have you done Tony...

Also, whilst RDZ was my favourite BHA coach so far, he had a few surprising blind spots. Either he was being petulant in the way he played when our wingers weren't available or he simply didn't have playing narrow, direct and central in his playbook of experience. Sure it was no surprise we...

[Albion] Oh dear, what have you done Tony...

There is no growth without discomfort. Remember how it felt when Potter, staff and players exited? Without that discomfort we'd have had no RDZ and not grown. The injuries since have resulted in the hiring of one of Europes best football medics. The January transfer window was a reminder to...

[Albion] "Brighton will target Ipswich’s Kieran McKenna"

I'm pretty sure that's the ancestor of Iggy Pop.

[Albion] How many do we need IN this summer?

Shhhh...I don't think any of us can say it. When Dunky's time is up there will be a parting of the South Downs with a golden light shining upon him and with that an almighty clap of thunder and puff of smoke. As the smoke clears only the sound of seagulls will be heard and there will be Dunky...

[Albion] How many do we need IN this summer?

Shirley this is an end of season thread, around about Wimbledon time when the day is rained off. You're peaking too soon here.

[Albion] "Brighton will target Ipswich’s Kieran McKenna"

Is it true Andrei kanchelskis was spotted at the fish and chip shop near the training ground?

[Albion] De Zerbi: 'We deserved to lose...I understood the problem in January!"

There is a risk here we're all being a bit neurotic and pedantic because we're all as anxious as hell RDZ will be leaving in the summer. It's clouding my perspective a bit and I should just lean into enjoying the best manager we've ever had.

[Albion] De Zerbi: 'We deserved to lose...I understood the problem in January!"

Where to begin? To his credit when we didn't have the wide players he adapted the shape to play narrow and with some success. It's unlucky to lose Mitoma, but in January or June there probably isn't another Mitoma so it's a bit of a fantasy that we could have found the right depth to deliver a...

[Albion] Aston Villa vs Brighton & Hove Albion *** Official Match Thread ***

Watkins you are too bloomin good against us. You get your mojo on more than Zaha used to playing us.

[Albion] Aston Villa vs Brighton & Hove Albion *** Official Match Thread ***

Go back to when a Hinshelwood was last on the starting line up and tell yourself then to imagine it's 2023...we're in the top 6, in Europe and 3-0 down against Villa and have the right to feel we can get something out of the game. Our journey just feels wonderfully ridiculous at times.

We needed this, much better to learn and develop how we set up in September.

Both Watkins and Emery are very good.

Whatever the result, this will be a useful learning for RDZ tactically and may shape a few future transfers.

Yup a bit of luck with Villa today and yes a bit of undoing ourselves, but respect to Unai Emery who has a thorough game plan to win the inches against us.

[Albion] Terrible support, terrible facilities, terrible day.

I was sat on the centre line so could see and hear the opposite ends. Brighton fans were a lot more visual with their support and a lot more audible until of course the end...hearing 'glory, glory Man United' is painful. Yes there were lulls in support from all fans, but it wasn't a scintilating...

My concern after today is that someone spawns a thread like Could Brighton turn into a Spurs? Or Ajax?

[Football] Leandro Trossard **Sold To Arsenal 20/01/2023**

Tross looking at his phone this afternoon...alternating between looking hopefully for an update from his agent...and despite himself, having a look at scoreline v Liverpool. Not wishing for a moment of schadenfreude, but I hope he's thought this roll of the dice through.
