Thanks, I understand the gambling losses are not declareable but how do I prove these weren't used for investing? I guess it would be exactly the same if I bought something with crypto? I don't think the UK tax laws have really caught up with this yet. After all you can't buy products or gamble...

CAPITAL GAINS TAX QUESTION. I'm in the HAPPY position of having to declare capital gains this tax year of my crypto holdings. Yes i genuinely dont mind paying some taxes because that means i made a profit for the first time :) The issue i now find is that i thought all i would need to do is...

im a strong crypto investor but that comments is bloody pointless and certainly adds nothing to the conversation. i could equally say that between the end of October and Christmas day my holding went up 150%, equivalent to 600% APR but since then theyve dropped back about 40% in one month. Your...

No unfortunately not. But i will make more than the new 6k capital gains limit unless there a big dump before April. So i need to register my prior year losses to avoid paying CGT this year

So that's a bummer for a start. A lot of my losses were from leverage/margin trading when i dived in without knowing what i was doing but yeah i likely did more than 50k A DAY (well 10k on 5x leverage) but was charged as 50k transaction. Do these even count because technically if i open a margin...

i have a love hate relationship with SOL. I lost thousands when it dumped along with the rest of the coins (bought many at over 200 bucks, then just when i thought things had plateau'd at $20 FTX collapsed and then suddenly panic sets in amid fear SOL would go to zero so sold the lot at 90%...

its just my friggin luck that yet more coins have dumped 33% in the last two weeks after coming under attack from the SEC deeming them illegal securities. Matic, SAND, ADA, MANA, ATOM, ADA. I own them all and took another massive chunk out of my retirement pot!. Already down 85% i started DCAing...

But then you can't react to a sudden crash or set stop loss limit, so risks whichever you take. For me the most surprising thing is that some of the exchanges impacted appeared safe as houses. I mean had it been "Jo blogs investment house" or even "Brighton Crypto " then you deserve to get...

lol no. put it this way, if BTC hits 100k and ETH hits 10k and MATIC hits $5 i'll have about half my investment back!! .lost 5k on Luna alone which at the time was 20% of what i had left after the November crash!

oh and for any newbies on here AVOID KRAKEN LIKE THE PLAGUE.... 1) They are now VERY uncompetitive with fees which start at 0.26% for margin trading and only come down once youve spent millions. They also seem to charge taker fees even when placing limit orders. I opened an account on Bybit and...
