    Birds are wary of feeding in wide open spaces because they are sitting ducks for hawks and birds of prey. If your feeders are near to trees and bushes, they are close to areas where they can hide .

    Further to my post yesterday from Tide Mills, 1st one is Greenfinches, 3rd one is a Linnett but we are not sure of the 2nd one, Mrs HS thinks it may be a White Throat, any twitchers able to confirm.

    Had a walk around Tide Mills yesterday and Mrs HS got a good photo of a Linnett and also a Greenfinch feeding her young. I'll get her to send me the photos and try and post them later On the subject of Red Kites, daughter lives at Cheshem in Bucks and they are as common as starlings down here...
