Unfortunately C.P. Lee died. Whilst they were a send up band, taking the p**s out of just about everything and everyone, they were surprisingly good musicians.
Alberto Y Los Trios Paranoias. What a great band they were! I saw them at the art college once. Not content with putting out a doo wop version of "Anarchy in the UK', they really excelled themselves with this reggae version of "Robin Hood'!

'A face in the crowd', for super Steve Earle, and all of you Tom Petty fans. This version is by Kathleen Edwards, who is probably the one living artist that I'd like to see live in concert more than any other.

New album release late September. I expect to see each and every one of you at his gig in Hassocks on September 9th. This guy really is something special. Forget Jesse Lingard, let's sign Jesse Malin !
I've met Tony Poole on a few occasions. When I see him in concert, he plays 'I thought I was a child', and dedicates it to me. He is quite simply one of the nicest, most unassuming people that I've ever met. He's a leading exponent of the Rickenbacker, and owns the one that used to belong to...

How could I have forgotten to post this masterpiece from Bruce Cockburn? One of the greatest songwriters and guitarists on the planet. Lyrically, he's up there with Jackson Browne.
Absolutely love this woman. She sometimes sounds like Tom Petty in drag. That's why I'm sharing 'A face in the crowd' with you.

I despise the last 2 Patty Griffin albums, but some of her output is up there with the best stuff in my collection. I give you 'Useless desires,' from the 2004 album, 'Impossible dream'. It's not the only stupendous track on a sublime album. Enjoy!

I knew I'd forgotten to post one of the best tracks I've ever heard, but struggled to remember which one I should be sharing with you.
It's 'Michelangelo', By Emmylou Harris. The word 'sublime' falls way short in describing her vocal prowess.

Why hasn't this been posted yet? It's one one the greatest pop songs ever written, by one of the greatest songwriters ever lived. Great video, and fantastic lyrics, even by Raymond Douglas Davies's mercurial standards. I give you 'Come Dancing', another Kinks masterpiece...
'The calling', by Mary Chapin Carpenter featured a few tracks that were virtually life changing. 'On with the song' is my personal favourite, but I've probably already posted it. 'Your life story' represents her at the best. That's why I'm sharing it with you...
