Battersea Park 1/2 done in 1:23 sunday. Battling a few niggles so very much feet up now until next Sunday. Did the same race a little quicker last time when I got 3:00:18 so a little disappointing but very small margins. Well done to all those who did brighton. I went to watch and was very...
2:13 for me to today at Hillingdon 20 miler. Avg speed bang on target but did fall off a tiny bit at the end (first 3k I went off too fast). Overall pretty happy and the sub 3 goal is still alive!
All systems go for me in prep for London Marathon. Hoping I can find the 19 seconds I need to break 3 hours! Volume wise training is going ok but finding it hard to get in much speed work. Looking forward to running the race though for the first time and experiencing the atmosphere
Hi all - hope everyone is well!
Been 'drifting' running wise for a bit. Richmond marathon was cancelled last minute due to the queen's passing and then re-arranged for the same day as Royal Parks which I did in 1:24. Have been trying to get to ParkRun each week which has been getting quicker...
Yes that is very true, it is very very dull. I have taken to putting some tape over the distance and time displays so I dont just stand there watching it tick up. It's certainly not an option for long runs but when I only have 20 mins before work or whatever it seems to be ok.
Question: how much easier is running on the treadmill vs running outside?
During the heatwave I got used to running in the gym in my block of flats as it had aircon and I quite enjoyed it given you can pretty much set the pace and just run with it. However I dont want to lull myself into a...
3:00:18 Chip Time for me for the marathon (albeit 2:59 over the actual marathon distance...). Am both delighted and mildly irritated by it! Paced myself perfectly the whole way round at 4:15 per KM but stupidly didnt factor actually running 26.4miles. Oh well!
I did an 18:18 at the St Albans...
Been missing from here for a while (mainly as I avoid NSC like the plague when we're doing bad - for my own mental health) but just dropping in to wish luck to all those with marathons coming up. Judging by NSC strava there's a lot of activity of late! I clocked a new unofficial PB of 1:22:20...
1:30:24 for me yesterday at the Hackey Half. Nice course! Chipped a bone in my hip sliding on a submerged tent pole playing cricket over the summer (wouldn't recommend) so been very light on any running as it still hurts. Am in for Brighton Marathon 2022 so be nice to get training for that.
I broke my toe playing cricket about a month ago so have been trying to manage that with various short 2 milers. Pain seems to come and go, but definitely feeling a lot better. Managed first longer (8k) run yesterday evening. Very unfit but good to be back!
Hey Artie - my brother is running Richmond too (hoping for around 2:45) so will head down to watch it. Let me know your race number etc and i'll reserve a big SEAGULLS to cheer you on!
