Regarding "runs around a lot", my point is fans seem to take to those types of player very quickly, and tend to overrate their actual contribution, due to the fact it "looks" like they're doing a lot all the time, if you get me.

Murray wanted to leave TO BE WITH HIS FAMILY. Crofts is leaving TO FURTHER HIS CAREER. If Murray had left, he would've received sh*tloads of abuse. Crofts isn't receiving any. Can you see the disparity between the two circumstances?

It would be the other way around. The medical machine would not keep up with Crofts.

I wonder how many people will utterly slate Crofts for a "lack of commitment" to Albion, compared to the s**t Murray got (and still gets) from some on here, despite STILL being an Albion player. Oh sorry, I forgot. Crofts runs around a lot. :wozza:

Err...goals... Crofts - 5 Bennett - 7 How exactly is he carrying the goalscoring contributions on his own?! You're just making it up as you go along.

While he IS incredibly hard-working and an asset to the team, if you are talking in terms of "footballing ability" he would be 4th behind Bennett, Dicker and Navarro for me.

For the record I would definitely rather we kept Crofts.

See I do actually agree with that. He is genuinely very good at running around (so was Tommy Fraser). I reckon for £250k odd we could find another midfielder with a good engine and not much else to their game, surely?

We have history here. The Large One rates Crofts very highly. I don't rate him as highly.

Sums it up perfectly. Crofts is very consistently "alright".

Fair enough. But as this thread (and the other) shows, opinion is MASSIVELY split as to just how important Crofts is. A LOT of people don't quite agree with you.

Arismendi will shine next season. Risky prediction I know, but I really think he will.
