Regarding "runs around a lot", my point is fans seem to take to those types of player very quickly, and tend to overrate their actual contribution, due to the fact it "looks" like they're doing a lot all the time, if you get me.
Murray wanted to leave TO BE WITH HIS FAMILY.
Crofts is leaving TO FURTHER HIS CAREER.
If Murray had left, he would've received sh*tloads of abuse. Crofts isn't receiving any.
Can you see the disparity between the two circumstances?
I wonder how many people will utterly slate Crofts for a "lack of commitment" to Albion, compared to the s**t Murray got (and still gets) from some on here, despite STILL being an Albion player.
Oh sorry, I forgot. Crofts runs around a lot.
:wozza:
While he IS incredibly hard-working and an asset to the team, if you are talking in terms of "footballing ability" he would be 4th behind Bennett, Dicker and Navarro for me.
See I do actually agree with that. He is genuinely very good at running around (so was Tommy Fraser).
I reckon for £250k odd we could find another midfielder with a good engine and not much else to their game, surely?
5 league goals all season from our most advanced central midfielder.
I'm not being snide or sly, I'm not having a "dig" at him, that's literally just the bare facts.
Eh? How's getting 6/10 200 times proving yourself? (JOKE!)
By proving yourself, I mean rising to the top level of league one players, before he makes the step to the Championship.
By your logic, Andrew Whing is ready for Championship football.
What are you on about?
When he plays well, I say well done,
when he is mediocre, I say he is,
when he is poor, I say he is.
What's your point?
I don't "treat" him any different to any other player. Look on the Crofts Wales Call up thread. I said "well done, deserves it."
I give him the...
Fair enough. But as this thread (and the other) shows, opinion is MASSIVELY split as to just how important Crofts is. A LOT of people don't quite agree with you.
