I certainly was not, the Joe Jackson gig was excellent.
Next up for me is Steve Forbert in Reading at the beginning of June, with Molly Armstrong as the very good support.
Showing my age, but I saw Elkie Brooks in Torquay last night. Good show and an absolutely amazing voice. At 72 she is doing really well. Played all her classics and some great covers too.
I agree with you on there being a large percentage of mediocre songs and yes, Piece of the Pie was dire. I would have loved to have heard The Load Out and The Road, but there we go. For a Dancer was great, as was Late for the Sky. I was sitting in the stalls to the left and it was very difficult...
Great voice and I really enjoyed it. I was a bit disappointed by the setlist and would have liked a few more from the early albums like Running on Empty instead of the cover versions he chose. I thought I knew a fair amount of his catalogue, but there were quite a few tracks I had not heard...
I'm off to see Jackson Browne tonight. I have not seen him live before and am really looking forward to it. If he is half as good as Springsteen was at the Ricoh last year, I'll be happy.
