  1. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

The first series was superb. And yes, you do get single crew patrols. The officer in Brighton who got a broken eye socket (as seen on Night Coopers) was responding to the fight as a single crew. Which illustrates why it’s a stupid arrangement and should not be allowed to happen.
  2. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

    Good isn’t it. Same director.
  3. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

Virtually every actor who we know now was in it. I had my first ever uncredited stunt role on one of the episodes, was still training at the time so I was mainly stood around with a fire extinguisher. True story. Jeebers! maybe 23 years ago? Dear oh dear! Anyway we filmed in Ashdown...
  4. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

The director of The Responder, Phillip Barantini has just directed Stephen Graham in Boiling Point which is rather good too. He’s also directed some ropey London Gangster pics with Craig Fairbrass. Done a fair bit of acting too. In late 90’s football drama Dream Team and Band of Brothers among...

The Responder review – Martin Freeman is magnificent in tour de police force; https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2022/jan/24/the-responder-review-martin-freeman-is-magnificent-in-tour-de-police-force “The torque on the remaining four episodes (I looked ahead – I...
  6. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

I agree. Lots of black humour. Like the old lady dead on the couch.
  7. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

Don’t think a copper, especially uniform could go around doing the things he does as blatantly as he does without getting pulled pretty quickly. But it’s entertaining.
  8. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

    :lolol:
  9. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

    Pretty grim back then.
  10. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

Just thinking on that, around 10-15 years ago all the reality progs of all types tried to pit people against each other. After suicides and the higher awareness of mental health in general, thankfully programs seem to have ditched trying to antagonise participants and manufacture feuds in favour...
  11. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

The type that just cannot help themselves. They tend to have nicer people on it now.
  12. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

:lolol: I knew that reference would get picked up quick!
  13. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

Sounds terrible. I’m in! :lolol: Genuinely love that sort of thing. Edit; I think I remember watching that actually. Maybe ten years back? Usually ended up with the posh kids loving the cheap holidays because it was pure fun and the poorer kids hating stuff like skiing in France or fine dining...
  14. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

Ha! You can make subtitles come on your telly. Just ring down to reception anytime.
  15. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

That’s on my list. That sort of stuff is a great escape on my days off. Don’t want anything too heavy when I’ve finished dealing with drug addicts and their abusive partners and pimps for a week of nights. Well, I am watching this but you know what I mean :lolol: I used to love Coach Trip...
  16. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

His accent is flawless. I think he’s well cast. SG would have worked too but he genuinely scares me :lolol: He was superb in Boiling Point.
  17. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

I get ya. One of my favourite “switch off brain” progs is Four in a Bed :lolol: But sometimes I like a bit of the dark side!
  18. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

    That is quite amusing! :lolol:
  19. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

Funny the divided opinion. I think it’s cracking. What Line of Duty could have been with a bit more grit and less focus on endless plot twists. It’s more of a character study than a whizz-banger. But that appeals to me.
  20. The Clamp

    [TV] The Responder

Obviously there will be artistic license but written by Tony Schumacher, a former police officer so should have some grounding in reality. Guardian gives it five stars. “The Responder is as fast and riveting as a thriller and as harrowing as a documentary. It says profound things about the...
