Just doing some research, but does anyone have any idea of how many season ticket holders we had while exiled at Preistfield from 1997-99 ?

Also, anyone have a decent estimate on how many people that have had season tickets at each of our 4 (relatively) recent homes?

(ie I wouldn't count as only had STs at Goldstone and Amex)

Many thanks in advance

No idea how many, but I reckon the great majority of the home attendees were STH. There was a small die hard band who would have gone whatever. I reckon we had very few who just went for the odd game.

Had a season ticket for the first year at Pissfield. Never want to go back ever again. Was at Uni for the second year, so have a valid excuse!

I don't think me and my mates had a season ticket (probably skint, no pun intended) but used to go fairly regularly with the A21 club from Langney, in Eastbourne.

But it's a good point, work out the average home crowd and figure it out from there

We went to perhaps 10-15 games over the two seasons. So were included in that very few that went to the odd game 😁

Didn’t have a season ticket and went to most games. POTG was the norm back then. I still have the hump that the Albion paid for the Gordon Road Stand redevelopment too.

Ditto. Picked up from opposite Martello. Usually went to The Cricketers which was a surprisingly decent pub in a rough area. Prediction comp on way back and laughing at Ivor and George arguing like a footballing version of Statler and Waldorf!

Just far enough away from LDC

I believe the quoted figure in the 1st year was c200 as they went on sale under belotti abd archer. In year 2 it was higher as the original plan was to move back to withdean for January but a gas main was hit when constructing the north stand and it delayed things by 6 months. The year 2 figure was announced as 1100

Wow, as low as that for the first year?

I remember the second season had a better average attendance, and a better vibe so to speak, despite the football on offer.

Thanks so much for the information, genuinely grateful

I was a regular at both the Goldstone and Gillingham but never a ST for either as there wasn't the need to have one back then and pay on the gate was the norm for most attendees, especially as it was terracing rather than seats.
It was only when we finally returned to the Withdean and there was an actual need to have tickets in advance (small venue, higher demand and it was all allocated seating) that meant that i've had a ST ever since

I had one in the second year at Gillingham. First year I just paid my £8 at the door. Had a season ticket at all four grounds

Was 13/14 at the time so didn’t have a season ticket and was always POTG as it was cheap £5 or less I think?

We used to get a coach from the Railway Burgess hill that also picked up outside the Burrell in HH, bloke called Doug ran it I think.

Being school age didn’t miss a Saturday game over the two seasons but wouldn’t have gone midweek as we were going without adult supervision
