Trump administration fires National Security Agency chief

Far-right activist Laura Loomer, who met with Trump on Wednesday, said Gen Timothy Haugh was fired because he was "disloyal".

The Trump administration has fired Gen Timothy Haugh - the head of both the National Security Agency and US Cyber Command - the BBC's US partner CBS has reported.

It is not clear why he was removed, but it comes after a meeting between President Donald Trump and far-right activist Laura Loomer on Wednesday. Ms Loomer reportedly urged Trump to fire specific employees whom she suspected lacked support for his agenda.

It seems to me that generation of U/S women are so self obsessed that not only does it apply to their fake looks and image but also to their opinions. Totally 100% Self centred in looks, self centred in opinion. They think they look good and they think they know everything.
31 years old, already looks like the haggard plastic old beasts a generation older, with only some of their life experience and has the backing of the President of the USA to sack the head of the NSA.
How has it come to this? The she-beasts and the peacocking males of this generation were emerging from their beauty salons pre Trump.
Where have they got such misplaced confidence from?

China has announced tariffs on US goods of 34%. presumably that means US tariffs will have to raise on them? either way, triggered another round of sell off, from about 1.5% on markets to 3.5%.

He’s shown the requisite balls in rallying support for Ukraine, but he’s also not the type to make a song and dance about things.

The difficulty he has is that Brexit leaves us more exposed and vulnerable. The EU got hit with a higher tariff, but it has the collective bargaining power of 27 countries, and it’s been far less impacted by Brexit, which now looks like an even greater act of folly than it did 12 months ago.

Taking time to consider the options isn’t weak, it’s prudent. I share some concern that there’s too much public focus on the sPeCiaL reLaTioNsHiP but I understand why they’re doing that.

I’m far more worried about the mooted tax cuts, failure to regulate, and AI copyright exemptions for US big tech. That to me would be an unconscionable surrender.

As with so many cultish political movements, it will inevitably turn in on itself as it seeks to purge the "non-believers" from within it's own ranks. From Stalin's purges and Hitler's "Night of the Long Knives" through to Corbyn's Labour and Johnson / Cummings and their deselections of the non-Brexiters in the Tory ranks. The "enemy within" is always far more menacing than the "enemy without", and the unclean must be shunned from the wagon circle.
