If you’re a parent and introduce yourself to someone you haven’t met before in a sporting or academic environment, do you regard yourself as the dad of or father of.

For me father is far too formal.

My kids call me dad. Therefore, I am the dad of.

Is it a class thing?

I’m not a parent but I have always referred to my parents as my mother and father.

Perhaps it’s just me, however, more often than not IMHO father is used more regularly for those with a plumb in their mouth.

Mum and Dad, rather than Mother and Father but I'm common.
