If you’re a parent and introduce yourself to someone you haven’t met before in a sporting or academic environment, do you regard yourself as the dad of or father of.

For me father is far too formal.

My kids call me dad. Therefore, I am the dad of.

Is it a class thing?

Sounds more like it's a man thing.

I’m not a parent but I have always referred to my parents as my mother and father.

I found that screaming across the playground 'Oi, Cotton Socks Jnr, get over here you little s**t & give back all the dinner money you've stolen today from the other kids' generally told everyone who my son was.*

Mum and Dad, rather than Mother and Father but I'm common.

*That has never happened!

I use my first name and am very much a best friend figure to my offspring pals. We have a reciprocal method of connection that allows us all to nurture each others souls in a way that nourishes but doesn't define us.
