I'd imagine him being at Strasbourg effectively gives Chelsea dibs, which is unfortunate.

But these things are all about the timing right? It's not always the case that managerial prospect and vacancy occur at the same time and all the succession planning in the world can't guarantee the stars will align.
There's another factor. He might not leave Strasbourg for a PL job. Yes, yes, I know you're laughing at this suggestion. But Liam is his own man. He's got a very decent chance of getting his club into Europe and like Alonso at Leverkusen might decide he will reject attractive looking overtures to finish his job at the club who gave him a chance

You could be right.
But personally I don't think you would be if we came calling.
Alonso, whilst a Liverpool legend, is Spanish, so it's not guaranteed he'd ultimately aspire to PL managers job, following a successful legend like Klopp was also risky.
Real Madrid in La Liga, for a Spanish man would surely be irresistible?
And I'd speculate that Liam being a young, black English man, it would be a massive deal to him to be in PL, not just as an aspiring manager but also a role model, that plus his affinity for our club and Chairman whom he knows well and I reckon he would come if TB came calling.
No doubt, Europe and top few in League 1 is an achievement, but could he realistically do that much better than that with Strasbourg if that becomes benchmark or expectations? Would be perfect time to jump to us as a success in League 1.

Liam is very much a progressive so his style and outlook would certainly suit us. The tune he is getting out of Barco is fantastic. I think he stays at Strasbourg regardless and I wouldn't now put it past us sending the Korean lad out to him. The concept of a feeder manager as well as feeder clubs is not beyond the scope of TB's bluesky thinking.

They went out and scored twice in the first 8 minutes of the 2nd half after this. Game finished 2-2.

After 14 matches Strasbourg were in 14th place with 14 points. Since then they've taken 37 points from 17 matches.
I think given where we are as a club we need a bit more than half a season in the French league to see what Liam is really made of. He has 4 matches left: PSG and 15th, 16th, 17th placed clubs fighting relegation. If he can get Strasbourg into the Top 6 and Europe then he might make the Bloom shortlist.

I think that’s a fair observation.
However, FH was taken on with only 18months experience as a manger for a German second division team with promotion in his first full season. It was hardly a long list of achievements.
I do agree with you though about LR. More experience would be useful.

Strasbourg is very much for Chelsea to develop players. No way are they taking any of our young players to develop without a buy option.
