Cut the US out of the equation. Accept that we have lost a percentage of our exports forever but, strike deals with the EU/ASIA and the " good " BRIC's. Other than armaments almost everything we need can be sourced elsewhere....and, we can step up our own armaments to replace.

I would suggest not buying anything from Boots the Chemist as they are ultimately US owned. However, if sales dip they start laying off UK staff ! There is so much interconnectivity in trade these days that it is almost impossible to separate.
