Interestingly on TalkSPORT yesterday Jeff Stelling, not someone I consider prone to bullshit, said he had heard the club were ‘shell shocked’ (quote) by McKennas decision to stay at Ipswich.

The fact that Barber knew him from his Spurs time (and got him work in Vancouver) suggests that there must have been some kind of informal chat prior to RDZ leaving, giving the club the idea that it would be a formality. Plus, Alex Crook tweeted out immediately after the RDZ announcement to expect things to move quickly with McKenna. Barber has really got this one wrong - either McKenna was never really that interested or he was, but didn't like what he heard when they met to discuss the role?

It does seem as if we had put virtually all our eggs in the Kieran McKenna basket. PB must have talked to him and got a pretty good indication that he would come.
However, it’s always vital to have a proper contingency plan and the timescales now indicate that perhaps this wasn’t as robust as you would have expected from PB.

I beginning to think the old 'we're not as big as we think we are' adage is coming home to roost... shell shocked is a bit rich however, a bit surprised maybe...

There's still (my) hope that we opt for Marco Rossi and bring his Hungarian revolution to the Amex... lol... I'd imagine his stock will be very high if Hungary shock a few people at the Euros., which could easily happen.

Complete and utter no brainer to me, however divisive it may be! I’d prefer a Gallardo or Potter thread and my vote would change, the idea of Cooper fills me with dread

I can think of one mod and quite a few others who would prefer ANY Cooper over Potter though

Beat me to it.

I've no issue whatsoever with Potter at the Helm again. I don't pay his wages or have to manage him. As long as he gives it his all ( if a return happens ) and gets the team playing to a mid upper league level that's good enough for me. I appreciate what he did has upset many, but come on life's too short.
Some really need to take a chill pill and move on !

I wouldnt be surprised if Cooper was announced. He was linked with us a while back. And yesterday he ruled himself out of the Burnley job because he wants a job in the prem. There's only us and Leicester available at the moment. So he turned down work, and maybe he's prepared to wait till the autumn when someone else gets the boot, or maybe hes had talks with someone.
