Would Fabian Hurzeler be a good replacement for RDZ?

Me too. It's weird but he just seems to fit. You can feel the excitement on here too. Really hope the players buy into it all.
Also, me too! I don’t know why but it’s as if a huge cloud of depression has been lifted that’s been hanging over us over the last few weeks, if not months. The anti climax of a season petering out so tamely and RDZ leaving, then the exasperatingly long (so it seemed) search for a new manager seemingly fruitless - then bingo!

The curviest curved ball from the furthest left of the left field is revealed - so Brighton, so brilliant, and so wonderfully uplifting for us fans. I’m buzzing and can’t wait for the official announcement and the start of the season.

Please, Gods of Football, let this all happen without raining on our parade or dumping a load of shit on proceedings - thank you very much.

I wonder if Bloom and Barber have considered putting out an announcement that we've appointed Steve Bruce, complete with photos etc., just to see how people react. :lolol:

Well I've enjoyed these three weeks of manager speculation. All the bitching and wailing, genuine stupidity and deliberate misunderstanding have helped fill the void until we get down to the serious business of complaining about Dunk not being on the pitch.
Obviously it's not a risk free appointment but it does seem a very good one.
Well done everyone for not letting being an incredibly well run club ruin our fun. We could all have easily just trusted the club and not enjoyed this journey together.

If you are referring to FH - he would have studied us regularly, his whole system of play is inspired by (but doesn’t imitate) De Zerbi ball - As for RDZ he would have known when taking over from Potter, the Clubs we use/have used previously to place loan players as we did with St Pauli so links were always there.

Primarily and as has been said several times, Hürzeler came over to England last January, visited the Amex, met staff and watched us play several games and would have met RDZ too (along with Pep and Arteta, his other two role models - he also watched a Citeh and Arsenal game that week). That was at least one visit we know about.

Re the transfer fee - if £8 million is true (and it’s only a rumour) , then that would likely include add ons - maybe performance payments and very possibly a sell on percentage - it would also include his team of coaching staff - we’d be effectively cleaning out the backroom staff of a smaller club who’s got the Bundesliga to deal with next season - there’s no way it was all going to happen on a dime.

The figure quoted is always the value of the transaction anyway not the actually money that’s paid up front. Take away support staff and add ons, perhaps it’s closer to £4/5m 🤷‍♂️

For someone that’s been touted as the ‘new Nagelsmann’ …maybe the Club knows what it’s doing 🙂
I don’t think it would be a reach either to suggest any release / break clause we put in the contract will be reflective of what we have paid for him despite being a relatively unproven manager

Robert Sanchez.
Just Google it to see if he somehow made it into the Spain squad for the Euros.

He didn't.

Shame  Enjoy your summer hols, Rob

He was assistant head coach or assistant manager to Shevchenko?

Maybe TransferMarkt / The Athletic have it wrong.

I'd been absolutely amazed if we took all their staff. He might be a baby faced genius but the chances of some random selection of second division staffers also being up to top tier coaching seems unlikely.
Surely we'd want to get in the very best to help someone so young and inexperienced?
yes but there’s also possibly an element of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ there too.

similar to when teams get promoted and get rid of all the players who helped them achieve that. never usually ends well
