Maybe this thread will turn out differently.
I'm voting tactical. But I don't really need to hold my nose to do it. I'm happy to vote either Lib Dem OR Labour.
To be honest, Lib Dems are probably more closely aligned to what I think this country needs than Labour at the moment. I'm just not sure they're actually fit to govern yet ... ideally they'd spend a term as the official opposition first.

I've voted tactically in the past, but it meant voting for something I didn't want, I'm not doing that again. Win or lose I'll vote for what I believe in.

I can’t vote tactically as that would mean voting Lib Dem and every time I see Lib Dems I see

Are you a disappointed tory by any chance? If you have always hated Labour it is a little disingenuous to imply that 'it seems' Labour is now not fit to govern, like this is a new thing for you, and that you have always admired them even if you always voted ToryDoomed whatever the outcome. Lib dem was an option for me, but Ed behaving like johnson larking around made it very unlikely, but now you have reminded me of Bellotti, I can't vote for them for life, who could get by this?

It's something I'm think about: do you vote negatively - to stop a particular person/party winning - or positively, for someone you prefer, but who hasn't a chance of winning. I once voted for Bellotti, though I didn't know then what we knew later.
Not sure I've got the answer, but I guess it depends on the strength of the negative feeling.

The tactical voting web site showed that based on last time out with boundary changes Helen Whately, Tory would have won 65% of votes in my constituency. The latest polls are quite an eye opener, with reform (and also Labour) eating into the tory support:
Same here.
In Bath, only the Liberal Democrats can beat the Conservatives; Labour are always a long-way behind in third place.
However, I don't resent having to vote Lib Dem, although if we had PR, I'd probably vote Green.
Not only is our local Lib Dem MP (Wera Hobhouse) excellent, I also fear that Starmer has gone too far in making Labour a soggy centrist party.
Of course I understand why he's done it - to distance the Labour Party from the Corbyn era, and to persuade disillusioned moderate Tories, the Right-wing press, and big business, that they can now trust Labour - but I still don't like some of the U-turns and abandoned policy pledges, and I really hate Wes Streeting.
I fear that in 5 years time, not much will have changed or improved, which will pave the way for Gobshite Farage claiming "See. they're all the same. Only I offer real change", and we'll lurch even further to the Right.
So, I will be voting Lib Dem tactically, but quite happily! Ditto Mrs Peteinblack.

It was lovely to see Coogan out and about with Williams the other day, what did make me chuckle as he was following her around town getting a few selfies was the last time I was at his house in Ovingdean he’d converted a barn to house at least 6 cars, all petrol guzzlers and one of those electric BMW sports looking cars
