I don't think so. Said early I don't think there's any buy-back clause, because it makes no sense. At all.

I'm struggling to see the great business acumen if there's a buy-back clause. If we sell him for £20m and buy him back for £20.1m, we've lost money (agent fees, solidarity payments to Undavs youth clubs etc.).

Any buy-back clause is also dependent on the player accepting to get bought back. If he doesn't approve the new contract we have to give him when bought back, he could just stay with Stuttgart. We can't force players to sign with us.

All in all its just too retarded to be true imho but maybe someone can convince me of the opposite.

What is the matter with you?

Wonder if it would affect the sale if this Stuttgart deal falls through; less need for a striker and less money in the kitty.

I would imagine everything will still go through, unless it’s a career ending finding in the medical.

Some further tests to reveal the extent of the injury etc is normal and probably happens why more than we realise.

Which Brighton player went out on loan and actually injured themselves in the medical? Have a feeling it was Taylor Richards.

Stuttgart have just signed a forward, which smashes their transfer record. With Guirassy to Dortmund stalled, I wonder if they still want Undav.

If they don’t, I’d suggest a number of other Bundesliga teams would pay the fee we want. He absolutely smashed the Bundesliga last season.
Hell, it's not out of the question we could offer him to Chelsea... They've struggled to find an affordable, first-team-ready striker this summer.

Of course, moot if Undav's aim is to stay in Germany.

Here’s a novel thought maybe Hurzeler can convince him to stay and he will form a 30 goal partnership with Pedro next season?…

Just checked: Demirović (age 26) scored 15 goals from 33 Bundesliga appearances (2,884 mins) last season, and looks like Stuttgart have paid £17.5m for him. Undav (age 27) scored 18 from 30 appearances (2,097 mins), so v similar.

Quite a chunky difference in the goals per minute column though.
Undav one every 116.5 minutes
Demieovic one every 192.2 minutes.
Same ratio on minutes would suggest Undav would score 10 more over the same playing minutes.
Seems we are holding out for a fair price on that basis

Even if you factor in assists, Demirovic had 25 goal involvements in 33 Bundesliga appearances, Undav 28 in 30.

Demirovic is admittedly more versatile, having also been played at LW and CAM last season.

Although Demirovic may be more versatile, Undav did more with a lot less mins on the pitch, his totals were achieved in the equivalent of nearly 9 less games played mins wise. We can hold out for a lot more in that respect.

I hope we didnt get too greedy on this one... Denis had a good season in Germany but wasnt quite making the grade in the premier league. I cant see how he dislodges a fit Pedro, Ferguson or Welbeck in the starting 11 and so a sale to Stuttgart would have been ideal imho.
It may of course still happen but with this new guy signing for them and the other striker now likely to stay on, we may live to regret pushing as hard as we have.

Very debatable given his record, particularly at the end, when he started games.
Probably the best finisher in the club, but probably not as good an all-round game as the others, but largely because he has different attributes.

I like Denis my friend and think he is very decent. I just cant see him dislodging the others mentioned who appear ot have that bit more needed. £20m is massive money to spend for all but the elite clubs and so i hope this one still happens in our favour
