The whole idea that we're pretending our goalkeeper is injured so that another club doesn't buy him is just a completely alien idea.

Why would we pretend he is injured and not play our best keeper in the pre-season or the first few games when we could just play the guy and reject the bid?
As if being injured until then would stop someone buying him anyway ffs.

I don't think anybody's 'jumped on' the OP for posting. I posted a link to the discussion that was on here yesterday (it's a fault on the system that although the link goes to the actual post (post #793) where the news was broken, the headline appears as the thread title) so that people could read what had been said - and no, I didn't troll through the whole system to find it - I just happened to read it yesterday!
There's a lot of assumptions there. I feel much the same as the op when posting thats why i look for the humorous side of things no one should feel the need to apologize for posting news like that. This is not intended to reference to you whatsoever (y) why would anyone think you trolled thriugh the whole system ?

That was more a response (worded differently) to what the poster you replied to said, about looking at every post.

A couple of v.minor injuries in pre season is hardly a crisis is it. Its all a bit "Don't panic" "Don't panic" round here ha ha .
It’s not great though is it?

NEVER believe talk of “minor” injuries coming out of the Albion either. Aren’t they “unspecified“ rather than “very minor”?

To be fair, I remember several very minor injuries sidelining players for months over the last couple of seasons. Slight ankle injury? 4 months. Minor back problem? Out for the season? Twisted wrist? 3 months. Bruised ego? 6 years at Chelsea

Yes i didn't know . I'm a bad NSC person. I Just love the way that people jump on it like its some sort of crime telling us our main goal keeper is injured.

Edit: I must get a life and be on NSC more  i'm averaging a post every 2/3 days over 15 years, what a rebel :giggle:
You need to up your game, there are posters on here can average a post every 2 to 3 hours (24/7) !

Well they weren't minor injuries then were they. We had plenty of injuries as well as the longer term ones - which fair enough were lengthy, excessive and season damaging - where players returned after a few weeks except nobody ever remembers them.

Yeah, it's silly.

As for how he got injured? People do get injured outside of playing / training football. He could have fallen off his bike for all we know.

The utterly ridiculous conspiracy theory that we are saying he’s injured to avoid bids falls over the moment you consider his agent can tell other clubs he’s fit. Plus players are transferred with injuries regularly too (see Serhou Guirassy to Dortmund).

Bart being out injured for six weeks isn’t going to stop anyone bidding if they really want him.
It's not becuase we're trying to stop clubs bidding for him; it's becuase we don't want to play a player who's head is elsewhere, particular in such an important position.

We've done this before: Caicedo in Jan 2023 and Dunk at the beginning of 15/16.

What I find the hardest to work out is that they've managed to put a 6 week timescale on it already. Has he even reported back to Lancing following the Euros??

Dunk and Caicedo had put in transfer requests !!
you're looking for something that isn't there. A minor injury keeping him out for a couple of weeks is hardly a surprise and really isn't cover for ...well what ?

we have plenty of injuries - even last season - that are announced minor, result in 1-2-3 game absences and players return.
(and last season we had plenty that weren't) . Nobody ever remembers the former for some reason and imagines the club - which for the most part reports on its injuries in good faith - is always up to SOMETHING.
