Looks like Marc Leonard off to Birmingham .
So about one month in we've had ...

5 Incoming
2 sales
4 Loans (3 of which are keepers)
2 (first team players) released.

so far... plenty more to go ...
I still make the first team squad about 42 ! players. , expect it to come down to about 30.

Early days but surprised so many Loan returns are in Japan Maybe Dezerbi fell out because he was told he had to give Offiah, Turns, Leonard,Ayari,Moran,Weir,Sarmienta and Sima an opportunity this season.
Some pretty unsuccessful loans there too, at least according to fans' assessments!

The more I think about it, the more I think March goes on loan for at least 6 months.

If he’s going to miss a chunk of the season at the start then do you include him as one of the 25 players in the squad? And if you don’t include him in the squad then you probably don’t want him ready to play from October but kicking his heels because he’s not registered.

A year loan with a recall in January option would actually make a lot of sense. If ACD and Minteh are enough then it’s just the natural evolution of the squad. If they’re not then we can call him back on Jan 1st.

This of course all falls apart if he’s back sooner than I’m baselessly assuming he’ll be back.

It falls apart way way before your small font disclaimer. It's a batsh!t suggestion. The club wouldn't put it to him in the first place but Solly would be rightfully outraged if they were to do so. We'll be fine in terms of naming a squad. We don't normally name the full 25 anyway, because we have so many under-age players, but the squad is about naming a maximum of 17 (it might be 18) overseas players, which can be supplemented with 8 (7) homegrown players -- which Solly qualifies as anyway.

Yes, and pretty sure we'd want to manage his return/recovery carefully and not have him thrown back in by a loan team trying to get their money's worth out of him!

Absolutely no chance March will be .loaned out. We have quite a few players who get into the 25 man squad but don't count due to age.

So before we sign anybody else we need to lose 3 overage players. If we bring in Gomez & a RB then that becomes 5.

Offiah, Turns, Moder, Dahoud, Ayari, Moran, Sarmiento, Sima, Undav & Gross look the most likely. But if FH gets his way and we hold on to the German duo then suddenly it’s looking touch and go.

I hadn’t even considered March going on loan until somebody else on here mentioned it, but if we’re close to the squad size deadline then depth in central midfield (Moder), depth at CB/RB/RWB (Offiah) or fully fit winger (Sarmiento) might suddenly seem more appealing than hoping March will be back on time and then trying to rush him back.

Dunk, Gilmour, Pedro, Lamptey, March, Milner, Rushworth, Steele, Webster, Welbeck are all home grown so losing March wouldn’t effect our HG player quota either.

He's 30 and has spent his life in one place... getting him to move away from his family and live in some hotel room in Stoke for 6 months is probably easier said than done.

Yeah, very good point.

Portsmouth are in the championship and there’s a fair few London clubs that would be commutable too.

Okay, maybe we aren’t loaning March out.

Trying to recall if Solly ever played rwb under Potter. He was very good at lwb but we probably don’t need him there, though I guess it depends who looks match fit first out of him and Pervis. Barco is a great talent but he shouldn’t be playing every week. Thinking about it, I’ve not actually seen quite enough to suggest he’s better than Solly or Pervis in the defensive aspects of a lwb, his passing and crossing however looks like it could be better.

Also who’s signing Solly on loan if he’s injured? Him coming back and going on loan in Jan is extremely unlikely but I suppose possible but a team taking him on loan while he’s still injured is never happening.

A thorough response, but March isn't going to be loaned out as it looks as though you're coming round to.
Agree with the vast majority of this, but would add:
-- Gomez isn't joining until Jan
-- we might get a R(W)B but also might be others joining (eg Gruda)
-- doubt we'll keep both Undav and Gross; more likely we lose both
-- Turns, Dahoud, Ayari, Moran, Sarmiento and Sima also unikely to be with us. Decent chance that one (potentially more) new signing won't be with us either, eg Osman, ACD, Yalcouye
-- also the likes of Bx3, MO'M to be loaned out, and I'd be extremely surprised if Rushworth isn't and is left vying with Steele for second spot
-- then there's the likes of Moder and Igor who have been linked with moves away ... and probably other stuff too

PS I'm too old to play FM but am being educated about hip hop by my 17yo so was delighted to play him Berwyn the other day

He played rwb a fair bit under Potter usually switching there in the second half

I’m glad there’s at least one area where I know what I’m talking about! Hope you and your son enjoyed him, he’s a really special artist.
