OMG that's appalling! I saw a comedian the other day suggest the Scots were tight, the Irish were thick, the Germans humourless, the English snobby and up tight and Yanks were fat and boorish. Obviously I walked out in disgust!
And the French are all of the above!

Police are investigating a potential hate crime at an Edinburgh Fringe show after two Israeli audience members were “hounded out”.

Scotland’s national force has confirmed it received a report of a “hate incident” a gig on Sunday by Reginald D Hunter, the American comedian, and said it was “reviewing the circumstances”.

Hunter was heard telling the audience members, who said they were from Israel and one of whom was disabled, to leave after they briefly heckled him over the joke, saying it was “not funny”.

As they left his show, called Fluffy Fluffy Beavers, they were booed and heckled with expletives from other audience members after Hunter verbally attacked them.

The comedian went on to make an anti-Semitic joke about being unable to access a review of one of his shows on a Jewish newspaper’s website. He said: “Typical f---ing Jews, they won’t tell you anything unless you subscribe.”

Racist wanker. I hope he gets the book thrown at him.

A comedian should be able to give some stick back to a heckler, not be racist/xenophobic towards them.
Unless you were at the show re context/what was actually said you're just going a bit Daily Mail there. Comedians push boundaries and often cross them. Only a fool would walk into a Reginald D Hunter gig and expect anything else (close to the boundary), if you 're that sensitive stick to Macintyre.

I've always wanted to see Reg live. Never managed it but this thread has reminded to check the dates. Seems like he hasn't changed.

Mentioned in the Jewish Chronicle. Absolutely nothing to wet the bed about other than an unnecessary reaction from the rest of the audience.

Imagine shouting “Not funny” at a gig.

Deserved everything they got imo*.

* Except the lame Jewish trope/quip at then end. Sorry, hadn’t seen that bit. But, seriously, they could/should have walked out with saying anything.

Well obviously I wasn't at the show. If he is charged with a crime, I dare say the judge/jury won't have been at the show either. But I've read the comments from a reporter who was at the show, and I don't like it.

I'm not sensitive. But I wouldn't expect a comedian to continue making jokes towards a minority group while they are hounded out of the theatre.

Not you being sensitive, the couple. And I've seen many, many comedians double down on hecklers on their way out

I’ve always liked Reginald D Hunter and thought him very funny.
but to make jokes like that against Jews at the moment seems particularly stupid……
……… and for the record I abhor what the Jewish Government is doing to the Palestinians at the moment.

That's a rubber stamp for shit stirring Zionists, not sure they have anything to say of any objective value. And contrary to their schtick they don't speak for all Jews.

Same as all that. I've enjoyed his comedy. I'm against what Israel are doing (and have posted as such). But don't start picking on any minority group in a show and joining in as the crowd turns on them. Scummy behaviour IMO.
