Albion derby tonight - in the Champions League!

Abdallah Sima will be hoping to score for Brest by firing past Kjell Scherpen in goal for Sturm Graz. Malick Yalcouye on the Sturm Graz bench too.
Up the Albion (whichever side wins!)

Rushworth on the bench for Hull City at Stoke tonight. Not good - I can see a recall on January 1st. unless things change thereabouts! (Alzate on the bench too). Moran not even in the Stoke squad - was he injured when taken off after an hour at the weekend?

Barco on the bench for Sevilla too. Early days but looking like a fair few poor loan placements again this season.
Give it some time, often new players don't join straight into the first 11 and will be phased in. For example we've not seen that much of Rutter or Kadioglu yet. Sometimes it will come down to the first choice getting injured and seizing an opportunity.

Of course sometimes managers don't like giving chances to loan players because they'll be gone again soon enough.

It might take until October or November to really know who's getting a worthwhile loan and who isn't.

They said Moran was out injured and Rushworth had just recovered from a bruised knee.

Yes as I said it’s early days.

However, if we’re loaning players to teams that already have a clear first choice in that position, or with a manager that doesn’t like loan players, then those are unequivocally bad loans.

Let's be kind - they have the potential to become unequivocally bad loans!

Don’t forget it’s up to the player to do their bit…

TBH, there were a fair few duff loans last season too. Loans to League 1 or 2 these days, from PL Albion, I expect them to be enjoyed and enthused about by the fans of the recipient clubs - Championship too, really, although appreciate that's a bigger ask.
