Anyone else getting pissed off with the higher prices in Brighton than the immediate surrounding areas? Been going on a while now.
Do my regular trip from Doncaster to the Amex for games and have found just that issue. I fill up in Doncaster 10p a litre cheaper. Then Crawley 5p cheaper than Brighton. Why is Brighton such a rip off?

I've been comparing fuel prices between Brighton and @AmexRuislip 's hood for years. They used to be more expensive in Ruislip by about 5/6p / litre. Now it's totally flipped. I got half a tank at Esso in Patcham for 141.9p before driving up on Monday and another half a tank in an Esso station up there in the afternoon for 134.9p before driving back. If I'd driven another couple of miles I could've got it for 131.9p. It's not a poor part of London either.

I think fuel in Brighton may be more expensive because Asda have stopped selling it so cheap and they all are just profiteering.

The BP garage near me has a different price to that of the one on Victoria Rd.
Even though they're only 2 miles apart!

*We have trendy vagrants up here don't you know....

I regularly drive up to heathfield and try to plan visits with the need to fill up definitely lower price means I can afford the higher octane fuel for less than regular unleaded in Worthing

When Asda got taken over by the Issa brothers, they dropped the cheap fuel they offered for years to entice shoppers (strange considering the Issas already owned hundreds of fuel stations independently). Nowdays it's all about profit, the 'Asda effect' is no longer a thing, resulting in increased prices across Brighton and Hove. Asda is more expensive than almost all of the independents.

I always buy from Texaco, I get points!!! and also

Drivers broke down after filling their cars up at the same supermarket petrol station.
Motorists were left stranded in the roads after filling their tanks with suspected contaminated petrol from the Morrisons store.
The supermarket giant was forced to close pumps at its station in Carmarthen when more than 17 cars broke down.
The chain, with more than 600 stores across the UK, admitted the unleaded petrol from its pumps had a “water reading”.
Furious driver Marc Skone bought £40 of petrol from the shop but only got a 100 metres from the station forecourt before his car broke down.
He said: “It has cost £150 plus VAT to drain the tank.

Interesting read
And factually cortect

If you have a classic car use esso, their super doesn’t have aNy ethanol in it. Or very little.

If you have. P/fussy old engine than Anglo American oil will sell you some 115 octane leaded 😉
