3-0. Great win
Shop window loan in January, I think (may need to sign him up for a one year extension first?)What's the score with this Peupion then?, he seems to have been around for ages,... popped into a few squads, doing well for academy teams, not even given a loan move.... Is he a prospect or a filler.
Well to be honest he looked a bit shit when he got his brief first team chance - but then so did Gyokeres so I didn’t read too much into that. What's the score with this Peupion then?, he seems to have been around for ages,... popped into a few squads, doing well for academy teams, not even given a loan move.... Spot on Peupion. Similar trajectory of Longman, Cashman, James Tilley and Jordan Maguire Drew.Well to be honest he looked a bit shit when he got his brief first team chance - but then so did Gyokeres so I didn’t read too much into that.
He had an unsuccessful loan at Cheltenham last season, but I’ve read there are so many players in PL U21 sides now that lower league clubs are able to be quite choosy as to who they want to bring in on loan. And then, it has to work for us too and for the player.
I don’t think it’s just a case of saying “you’re going out on loan” and having an immediate taker.
That said, his form this season is bound to generate some interest. Personally; I think he’ll move on permanently. He’s 22 now and will want to be playing first team football with security.
Shades of Longman and others who looked really promising but left without much fanfare
Similar trajectory to who - Ryan Longman or the other three? There's a fair bit of difference - Longman has played over 100 games in the Championship which is a much higher level than the others have reached (Cashan and JMD non-league and Tilley League 2).Spot on Peupion. Similar trajectory of Longman, Cashman, James Tilley and Jordan Maguire Drew.
I've seen a lot of U21's games in the last 12 months and Cameron Puepion has looked very good and possibly too good to play in PL2 against younger and inexperienced players. When he played against Wolves last season in the Cup, he looked so far out of his depth and scared to play. Look at Simon Adingra, he is the same age as Peupion but so far ahead of him in development, experience and playing ability. Hate to say it but can't see Peupion having a career at Brighton, or in the Premier League. Would not be surprised if a club in Germany took a punt on him, his game is suited to a slower and less physical league.
Simmonds captained the England U-17s yesterday as they secured a 4-0 win over Latvia. Deciding match against Sweden on Wednesday.
Howell also started yesterday: he superbly set up England's 3rd:-
...and then he scored the 4th himself:-
