Hate? No, agreed. But is it ok to think that the latter is clearly a bit of a bellend?

Not bothered about Lallana, personally.

I get it. But if he wants to paint himself orange and spend all his money on a Dubai lifestyle that's his prerogative, in my opinion. The whole drama with his England call up was odd but I can understand why you would want to avoid that circus, particularly if you view football as a job more than a passion.

He was professional while at Brighton, and I like to see our youth team products achieve at the highest levels.

We've only ever won 3 games in a row once in the PL and that was in October 2018 so over 6 years ago. We've had 2 chances this season to do this already this season - away at Arsenal - drew 1-1 after the wins v Everton and Man United. And Wolves - THAT draw - after wins v Spurs and Newcastle.
We never did it under RDZ despite winning twice in a row 5 times.
We did it last season under RDZ as well. In September 2023 we beat Newcastle (h), Man Utd (a) and then Bournemouth (h). We also won all three games by the same scoreline of 3-1, which draws parallels with the run under Hughton as that saw two home wins and one away win all by the same 1-0 score line. So get your money on a 2-1 win tonight.

There was a 3-2 defeat in the Europa League to AEK between the Man United and Bournemouth wins. But that run is the second time we've won 3 consecutive Premier League games.

So Saints manager Russell Martin is a Brightonian as I'm sure most people know. However I'm sure I read on here that he doesn't (or didn't at some point in the past) have a good relationship with the Albion.

Can anyone shed any light on this or is it just bollocks?
I haven’t got to the end of this thread but iirc it was something to do with his academy

He was on our books as a youth player and released. I suspect it's one of those things that's been blown out of proportion.

I might be getting my dates mixed up, but I seem to recall he was a Peterborough player when we were competing with them in League One and a Norwich player when we were competing with them in the Championship (I definitely remember him scoring against us at least once, but can't recall what division that was in). So there have been a few opportunities for the media to run with the angle "this guy is playing against his hometown club that released him as a youngster and he still hates them for it".

Storm in a teacup as far as I can tell. But I'm happy to be corrected. I can't find much solid info on where this idea has come from either and am having to "read between the lines" to figure it out.

Bottom team at home. Could finish the day 2nd in the Premier League.

Fluffing this fixture would be so typical. If we actually win this, it could turn out to be a very special season indeed.

We are a fall at the last hurdle kind of club(Or were) and oppo have more than their fair share of luck and flukes. Should win but worried.

Football is a simple game when played at this level. All you need to do is pass the ball through the opposition.

The decision to release him was very much a mutual thing, in fact if anything Martin came and asked for his release.

I think the issues between him and the club have come since he set up his own charitable football academy which some felt encroached on what Brighton and Hove Albion Foundation were doing in the area.

Great planning here. Just finished my winter holiday on the beach at Bournemouth taking in the game and returning via Southampton for the next game. Which pub we using?
2nd? This only happens after one game of the season normally.

Is Lallana a snake? Have I missed something, or is this another ironic post?
My issue is he got resoundingly given a sound send off. I'm sure most people thought he was going off to the retirement villa. Had he mentioned he was already going home to Southampton then I think things would have been done a bit differently.

Adam - Thanks for the 2 years & your training of the medical injuries team

I know there's Goal of the Season, but is there an Assist of the Season competition?
Indeed. With that pass, he took out 5 defenders.

And it wasn't a long ball over the top that Mitoma had to chase and predict the bounce. It was along the ground, perfectly weighted.

We don’t play long balls over the top, we play the occasional direct lofted pass into space behind the full backs ;)
