IMHO - there are very few sides that are much better than us. Even going through a bad spell we have fabulous talent in and out of the squad.
But not enough mental toughness. Talent gets you in front but mental toughness is required to dig in and see out games.

Yet again we concede within minutes of scoring. God knows how many points we’ve frittered away from winning positions. We’ve got all the resilience of a damp paper bag at the moment.

If anyone questions the money spent on some of our players in the summer then perhaps look at the £60m spent on Summerville and Fullkrug by West Ham.
Hardly setting the world alight.
Patience needed. Eg Wieffer who now looks a good addition albeit his first few games were concerning.

If Pervis isn’t careful though I can see Ferdi replacing him at left back when fit.

£30 million buys a guy who might be a good PL footballer. At least double that for one who is

I'm not Mystic Meg, but if I was, I would divine that Pedro or Welbeck might have done better with Ferguson's chances.
Pedro was on for the full 90 minutes, and I didn't see him get into a position where he could have got the chances in the first place.

It's not just God that knows.....

Like Bissouma, Mac Allister, Caicedo, Mitoma, and JPVH, all of whom took a season or more, on loan or otherwise, before establishing themselves as regular starters.
Did we pay £200m for them?

Couldn't catch the game for what ended up being no reason... worth to rewatch or typical 1-1?

I think some of this is a bit of a legacy of what they used to watch. They also keep talking about our high possession football - overlooking the fact that we don't have this anymore to the degree we did (53% average this season, 61% last two seasons).
Watched the game ,x whufc defender tony gale was excellent in commentary and very impressed and complementary about us.Full of praise.

The league is so tight a few wins gets you back up there it’s like the championship this season. Teams will come from nowhere maybe that will be us.
Agreed. And it’s not even coming from nowhere. We’re 3 points off a potential Champions League place with more than half of the season still to play, and most of the teams are inconsistent. Apart from the bottom 4, who are consistently bad.

There are some right drama queens on here. We’ve got a deep squad, few distractions and, as youngsters, they should mostly improve. It’s been a frustrating spell with some unlucky moments but enough to suggest we can start winning again quite soon.

That spending spree wasn't designed for instant effect, it was a longer term investment.
Exactly, I look at some of the posts and I get the impression that some people are genuinely pissed that we are only in the top ten of UK teams rather than top 4. Get a grip. TB's outlook has always been slow, steady, and affordable. If that means we become a perennial top ten club, with only the occasional tilt at silverware and Europe I am as happy as a pig in shit.

It’s OK. Don’t think we are getting Europe, more likely settling for mid-table. We desperately need a win in my opinion to bring back some confidence (Brentford?), don’t have a consistent goalscorer either which is slightly concerning. Don’t get the media attention, we have been quite mediocre and other teams (eg Nottingham Forest) have been absolutely exceptional this season. They deserve most of the plaudits!

Really? Next season then? Season after? Or, as has been often the case in football, expectation and promise is unfilled?
The players we bought will peak at various times, so this was about keeping us competitive for years to come, including this season but without expecting an instant transformation. It was also a financial investment with TB expecting a strong return in future to maintain our business model. That's why we bought so many young attack minded players.
