Having said that the term is used in situations where one is not an eyewitness of an event.

Therefore is it not the case as no smoke has been seen and no one has an eyewitness account means that there is absolutely nothing to see here and we can all just move on.

Not good. But this one has been bubbling a while with whispers. As @Blue3 correctly points out above, assuming I’ve understood his post correctly, there’s no smoke without fire…

You must be able to see the smoke and the fire by now, if you are as close to the Amex as I imagine you are.

But do we actually know he had glandular fever? I saw one rumour on Twitter in February, and was the first person to ask on here about it back then and no one knew anything - but since my post it seems to have become gospel. I'm sorry to have started a rumour that really wasn't based on much.

Yep, it’s never been officially confirmed he had glandular fever.

It has as much substance as this Welbeck/Fab rumour.
