1. Install ticket barriers with properly separate lanes for east and Westbound passengers. Once the numbers match the train capacity (including standing space) the barriers turn red and close. Once through you know you're on the next train.
I don't attend enough to gauge how much of an issue it is but I feel like we lose 10 or 15% of capacity by the trains not being filled up.
2. Another dedicated bus station with direct access on to the A27 but a few hundred metres from the stadium to ease congestion.
3. Bigger trains. I'm often shocked how few carriages there are for a 30k stadium

1. How would that work ? No ticket to show that would operate a barrier, and would cause huge congestion at the barriers anyway. The staff at the gates already have clickers. The Brighton-bound staff seem pretty good at filling up the carriages, the problem on the Eastbound side is people not getting on the first Lewes-bound train and instead waiting for their Seaford/Eastbourne service (so the staff count the number through the gate to ‘full’, but loads of them don’t get on the train)
2. Where ? How would you be able to walk to it ?
3. No more rolling stock available

9 - all the ones from Wolves onwards, like quite a few on here I'm assuming.
I agree with this. I think it needs to be no stopping until town centre though, as there are other buses to serve London Road/Lewes Road.

Yes that is pre-match which is usually not so bad; it's post match that Southern often supply a 3 or 4 car train and have long intervals between services...

Thing is today was different as no Lewes to London train so they all went to Brighton and back doubling the capacity. Personally I love it when there are engineering works like this on match day as there are double the trains to and from Polegate

It just shows though - sold-out match, no-one leaving early and the train queue cleared pretty quickly. It just needs the rolling stock. SN must have run a lot of near-empty 7/8-car trains though when the game went to extra time

I keep thinking of learning Android and Kotlin, but retirement may be too short for that. The other alternative for Android is Java and having spent much of my career working for the publisher of Java, I hate it with a vengeanceDon't suppose you could knock us up an Android version could ya?
Trains were brilliant yesterday.
Very much a selfish view with 12 car trains stopping Shoreham, Hove, Brighton and a good service to Lewes and back.
Had a good day out spoiled by some football.
