I know they take liberties when filming books but this is a completely different story isn’t it?
They sometimes have to change the stories due to logistical reasons (one of them goes back to 9/11 in NYC, and back to present day Brighton, for example) or for plot reasons (so that it can still air during prime time, as some of the scenarios are too extreme/potentially upsetting for that programme slot). Obviously, also they need to fit it into 90-odd minutes so have to change/drop sections. The changing of names (e.g. city centre car parks, or Devil's Dyke to Hobb's Dyke, for example) is done for legal reasons portraying them onscreen, especially if for instance a dead body is found. I've been a good friend of "the real life Roy Grace" for decades, well before the books were even thought of. He's always been heavily involved with the books, and is an advisor for the TV adaptations.

I assume The Amex has a starring role tonight.

The blurb for Dead If You Don't says: "Kipp Brown, successful businessman and compulsive gambler, is on his worst run of luck yet. Taking his teenage son, Mungo, to a football match should have given him a welcome respite – if only for a few hours. But it’s at the stadium where his nightmare begins.

Other thread suggests Wimbledon

As per my post in the other thread - they have used Wimbledons new ground not the Amex - although Falmer station is shown

Interesting, thanks. That would explain why the crew are all parked up there all the time. It’s crazy just how many people/trucks/equipment etc there are for what sounds like a relatively small production.
Just read Ur post from September last year. Many a time I have dropped a trailer off at a site or near to a site that filming is taking place at and not had to collect it for a couple of months.

I'm never too sure how good Grace is, because I'm always so focused on where the various scenes are set (the penthouse scene overlooking St Bartholomew's being a prime example and, IIRC generating a whole thread on NSC) .

Bit like 'Night Coppers' in which I believe a famous NSCer may have made an appearance

Could it be that Brighton Royals were originally Thames Valley Royals, which is what Robert Maxwell wanted to do with Reading and Oxford United, but got relocated and renamed like Wimbledon did to MK Dons and that's why the producers have chosen to use AFC Wimbledon's stadium?
