Man Utd would have 2m+ UK subscribers.

Brighton would have 40k tops.

With an even bigger disparity internationally.

Pretty obvious what that would lead to, financially, even if it started equitably.

(Anyway, miles off topic!)

This is exactly why I'm agaisnt a pay per stream agreement. Sky isn't perfect but at least the billions are distributed fairly evenly.

With a system that many are advocating we'd quickly drop out of the top 20 in terms of revenue. You only need to look a social media following as a metric of our wider appeal.

I'm amazed that Brighton fans don't see this terrifying scenario.

I mean, kids maybe have an excuse. But adults should understand the size of football fan bases.

I'm amazed that you don't see the size of the Albion Japanese fan base. Or the size of any other nation's fan base that the Albion care to monetise. Or indeed the size of the Albion diaspora

First look for me today. Pre-match - absolutely mobbed, long queue for the Amex bit upstairs, didn’t bother. Had a pint from one of the backpack beer servers, it was shite. Post-match, went upstairs, ordered food and drink on the touchscreen. Went to the ‘collection’ point where the order tickets were popping off the machine and being picked up by a clearly untrained member of staff who was reading them, putting them into a neat pile and ignoring them…..so no-one ordering drinks of the screen was getting their drinks unless they managed to get the attention of the single member of staff occasionally wandering down to that end of the bar (the food incidentally came out very quickly). Absolute shambles

Lovely space though, great screens and on a day like today being able to watch the early game outside in the sun was cool. Sure the service issues will get sorted.

First try today. Early arrival at 13:00. Went to the Amex area upstairs. Touch screen order for the first round. Served in 5 minutes. Found seats (remarkable). Enjoyed the collapse of Palace immensely. Got a second round at the bar in the traditional way. Good service time. Found it was 14:30. Left for match.

The Terrace? Superb. Will definitely have earlier arrivals and make this a thing.

The match. Pfft!

Went to the Amex clubhouse upstairs!
it just seems really odd to me. Unless you are in the front row of seats looking down you can only see about half of the big screen. And all the TVs face the opposite direction to the sightline. Came downstairs in the end to watch the game properly.

But do you prefer it to the Goldstone/Withdean experience!

Went in the North concourse post match today - got served right away which was very nice and a first.

Interestingly PBOBE said in his Villa programme notes that although concourse queues were down for the Forest game, food and drink sales were at their 'highest ever level' inside the ground despite The Terrace catering for up to 3000 fans. His words, not mine.

NS catering pre match and at HT were the lowest queues ever, also lots of empty seats. A much lower true attendance?
