Players. Our tactics were fine, which is why we created a billion chances. Relaxing after scoring a goal isn't fine, especially not given our last game against these. They're paid to play football and did it half-heartedly once we went 1-0 up and then 2-1 up. Five minutes of bad concentration gives both opposition goals and a switch of momentum. Immediately after our first goal, we stopped chasing their defenders down when they were measuring long passes to Mavdidi & co. It is not acceptable. It is lazy.
If the players are lazy then what does that say about the manager?

Not much. He's not their dad. We pay these players millions of pounds every year and even if Fab would spend pre-game match talk in a sunchair with a joint in his mouth, these spoiled little wankers still have a f***ing responsibility to stay awake and focused for 90 minutes.

To be fair, lots of players need to learn the hard way that if you lose focus and intensity for a few minutes, you get punished. Nothing unique to our lot.

Not an arm around the shoulder and being told to trust the process?

This is a tough one because I blame it on a lack of leaders. Not captains- but people actually organising, rallying, leading from the front. So it’s a lot of the above.

Soft, human leaders are the best ones and get the best results.

Once in a while, like today, being a medieval sadist is the way to go.

Care to name a soft, human leader who has been a successful elite football manager?

I can name some absolute bastards

Pep is a mix. He’s ruthless but he’s super soft too. He cries a lot, I’m sure of that.
