Whenever the pre match description says something like "Team X travel to the Amex hoping to end their run of y games without a win/point/goal" I know we're in trouble.

Am I paranoid or is Brighton (A) the fixture with which clubs are most are likely to change their poor fortune?

Amex is an anti-fortress.

Too many plastics. Too many negative fans. Not good enough support. Easy away day.

Our home form will always be mediocre/shite until this changes. I've given up with the issue - hoping it will change as we grow more die-hard fans over time.

But that, in a nutshell, is why it is easy for teams to get a result here, even when they're up against it.

The shite home atmosphere affecting results problem has spanned many players and many managers now.

It's the biggest long-term issue we have at this club that affects our success.

Don't buy this about atmosphere affecting results at all. I can think of a lot of clubs with poor home atmosphere who have gone on to win things or do very well. Do you really think professional footballers are geed up by crowd noise ? if so how come the Albion have performed well this season away from home at grounds with loud vocal home support , surely they should have lost ?

No - its entirely the fans fault that of the 4 goals Leicester have scored this year, 2 were against us. 😉

Our home record (25 points, 3 losses), this season, is better than Crystal Palace's (20 points, 6 losses) and they have the best fans and greatest atmosphere in the whole wide world by all accounts.

Our away fans are amazing. Always have been. They're inspirational in our great away results.

Whether you buy into it or not - it's a well established fact that the 'home advantage' of a supportive home fanbase can affect results. It's blindingly obvious that the players want it - they actively try to encourage it. Just as it's obvious that players respond to it - on the rare occasions that the Amex is buzzing, the players respond and we get some fantastic results (Potter's return at Chelsea is a great example of this, but there are many).

It is down to what happens on the pitch: reactions from the stands go out from the match. If we get an early goal, then another things will liven up. If we are losing, but get an equalising goal everyone shouts for the team to really go for it now.

But if are playing like we did in the second half yesterday it is not easy for the crowd to change things. It takes something to happen to get the crowd going.

It really isn't. Our home form is generally comparable to teams around us. Except during the Covid interruptions where most teams suffered. It's relative to where the team is at. In the promotion season, as an example, Albion won more than any other team in the league at home.

I made a comment after the Ipswich home game that the atmosphere was dreadful, it's not always the case, buts its happening more and more. There is a chicken an egg scenario possibly where team/fan indifference is inter polluting. I'm really hoping that the club find a solution over the summer and going forwards. Get the singers and standers together and gee the up while sticking the away fans in the most uncomfortable corner of the ground possible (maybe even add a few unnecessary support girders to obscure their view like Goodison)?

Not sure that the England cricket team of the past 30 years is a good benchmark, given that they have broken a few records in positive sense during that period.

I'm not sure what records Albion have been on the wrong side of though.

I rather like the idea of the AMEX being a welcoming place for away supporters. Our supporters often get snakey about some away grounds they visit and praise others. Football is about the experience and I certainly wouldn't subscribe to giving away fans a hard time.

As I mentioned, Albion's home form is no more wanting than anyone else's, all things considered.
