Verbruggen could have no complaints if dropped.

Potter to his credit, did have the balls to chuck in a young keeper when his first choice keeper was mediocre for a period of time. Let's see if FH does the same.

Yes i know, their relative ages blah blah blah

The same Christian Walton who was back-up to the league's worst keeper this season, before being pushed back to Ipswich's 3rd choice keeper?

Walton isn’t 3rd choice at Ipswich. He got himself ahead of Muric and looked like he was establishing himself as first choice before he suffered an injury. Ipswich subsequently signed Alex Palmer who has kept the shirt but Walton is fit again and been back on the bench the last few games.

If anything it looks like Walton has terrible luck with injuries. Getting one just as he’d got the shirt back this season. It appeared he was slightly ahead of Sanchez in the pecking order in the 20-21 pre season and looked like he was going to start the season as second choice, until he got injured against Chelsea in a friendly.

By the time he was fit again Sanchez had established himself as the new first choice, that injury against Chelsea could have been a real sliding doors moment in both their careers.

From Naylor "Carl Rushworth wants to leave Brighton & Hove Albion unless his chances of game time improve. The goalkeeper’s future is set to reach a crunch point this summer after six years at the club without making a first team appearance."

That's completely fair, really.

At the start of the season I wanted him to stay and challenge Bart, but to bring him back from a loan when he was finally starting to play, and then not give him any opportunities (yes I know he is cup tied), really is the nail in the coffin.

Lest we forget, in the summer Ipswich wanted to buy him as their starting PL keeper, but we would only green light a loan.

A wasted year for Carl.

...and being relegated from the bench as soon as Jason Steele was fit again must have driven home his current standing at the club.

An excellent and accurate summary. The last half sentence in particular sums it up - a sliding doors moment? Wasn't it just!

I know it’s Ipswich but how can you be good enough to be a starting PL goalkeeper and not good enough for even the bench here? I feel sorry for him, I don’t feel like he’s getting a fair chance here.
