I must be alone in hoping they drop back to non league. The media wankfest is up there with Bournemouth as they rose through the leagues. Two Americans’ toy.
You're not alone. I always remember a few years back they got to the FA Trophy final against Bromley. It was 2022 because it was when they lost to Grimsby in the play offs and LA Town got to the FA Vase Final. The Hollywood owners were all there at Wembley along with David Beckham and Will Ferrall. They took 20,000 fans and booed 'God Save The Queen' before the match. Final Score: Bromley 1-0 Wrexham. Good.

I don't like teams buying success, but I'm glad it's come to seemingly lovely blokes running the show in the interests of the local community there, and a side that went through some awful times to get where they are now. Obviously the documentary is PR but it's the only one I've seen where the owners seem to understand that a club is about the community.

It wasn't that long ago we had a Fans United Day at the Racecourse Course. What a turnaround.

Don't really rate Parkinson, wonder if they'll go straight back down.

Meh. I get the media circus part, but Rob and Ryan come across as people who have genuinely fell in love with the club and the city.

So in a world of so many awful owners and investors, getting in just for what they can get out, good on them. But if they eventually get bored with it, they'll leave the club in a much better state than they found it in.

I've enjoyed Welcome to Wrexham and it's honest look at the club, the players, the fans and the city. Looking forward to the next season of the show. So no spoilers please...

Ryan Reynolds is a truly decent person. A humanitarian and philanthropist who puts his money where his mouth is. He's spent tens of milions of dollars and so much of his time to social causes like refugees, Indigenous peoples, vulnerable youth, disaster-struck communities, children's hospitals, food banks, societies fighting cancer, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, etc. across Canada and the world. Last year, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada, mostly based on his charitable work. He's our Michael effing Sheen.

He especially loves Vancouver and Ottawa, where he grew up. During the pandemic, he donated millions for all sorts of services to help the poor and needy. The Ottawa City Council have even named a street after him; and when our NHL Ottawa Senators went up for sale in 2023, he was part of the bidding group that came in second.

He was at the Racecourse today to witness history, and his joy for the club and the town was visibly genuine. To slag him for doing and achieving the same thing Tony Bloom has done for Brighton reeks of hypocrisy. Anyone questioning Reynolds and his ties to Wrecsam FC, his love of Wales, of football, of the community and of underdogs knows sweet f*ck all about him and can piss off. @Flounce

Online Brits will bitch, sometimes with little knowledge. And in this case sweeping Tony’s £395m under a rather large carpet.

As Michael Jackson once said - you are not alone

The Red Dragons are so hot, MJ's hair caught on fire many years ago. Doctor Who episode I believe. Tardis landed in my back yard and I told him he was about 20 miles off. I asked him Who he was and he said "Yes!" but he missed his "Sex Education." He also called me a wanker. Who? Yes, He's on first.

Unlike Trump, a lot of truth here.

I’m sure many have forgotten the Gutterman Out, red card protest we took part in at Wrexham, not long before we went to the Mllenium stadium in 2004. Their owner was running the club into the ground, to seize the ground for development.

I‘m pleased for them.

Congratulations to my local club. Three promotions on the spin.

I imagine they have now reached their ceiling as I don’t think the owners have the funds to challenge in the Championship but you never know!

Fantastic turnaround for Wrexham - I love a small local Club having a success story like they’ve had in the past few seasons and 3 promos on the trot certainly fits the bill.

Shows what some savvy PR and sponsorship can do - they made 3 x more last season than any other club in League 2 and more than any other League 1 Club and not far behind some larger Clubs in the Championship (outside parachute payments). With stable finances going into 2025/26 and well within PSR spending, it will be interesting to see how far they can go next season with TV money and a bit more investment from the owners .

I remember the Gutterman red card protest, as you say they were in a very similar position to us, in that they had a rogue owner who was trying to asset-strip the club. It doesn't strike me that the new owners are treating Wrexham as some kind of vanity project, there have been numerous items on the Welsh news on how they are actively supporting the local community. I think I'm right in saying that Ryan Reynolds has even bought a house in the area.

Back to the Gutterman protest, we were joined in the away end by about 50 Norwich City fans, who were playing Crewe the following day, The inevitable chant of "Norwich, Norwich, give us a song" and they replied with, what I think is still my favourite football chant ever. To the tune of one man went to mow it went something like;

Delia Smith's a classic cook,
She makes the whole team porridge,
She also makes a steak au poivre,
But that don't rhyme with Norwich

I'm pleased for them. Yes they may have bought their success, but Wrexham is a good club that was only there for Ryan and Rob to buy because the fans saved it. We were there for their struggles and they were here for ours.

The owners have done more than get a football club promoted, they have revived a town and taken the people with them. You can knock the documentary all you like but it is actually a pretty good show that has highlighted the community as much as the team.

They have done until this point, but now they are in the biggest money pit of them all, the race for the premiership will be interesting to see how they get on.

Wow a big surprise a bunch of Welshmen boo the English national anthem!

I like them.

No rules broken, we’ve been transformed by £395m from TB.

I suspect the Championship will be their ceiling, unless bigger investors take a punt and the area has a small demographic.
I believe that Reynolds and the other one have already started to bring in funding from other wealthier investors, bringing in additional owners this season.

It's unlikely they will be making the jump to the Premier League anytime soon.
But it's probably the most likely landing spot for any Yank Billionaires looking for the next candidate to break into the Premier League.
