He’s got a bloody difficult job ahead. Their improved second half was imho 90% due to the Kudus show, should he leave this summer, that’s a huge blow.
He’s dropped off massively as it happens. 4 goals - 2 of them against us! - this campaign, down from 14 last season.

"Southampton have confirmed that new head coach Adam Lallana will miss the first eight games of the Championship season due to a shoulder injury sustained while pointing at cones during training yesterday. The club have refused to put a timeline on his return but are hopeful it will be after the international break".
“The statement notably did not specify after which international break”

Lack of end product. But like Dibling and Semenyo, we allowed him the freedom of the Amex yesterday. Without him, their game was long balls to giant Souček, Bowen feeding off headed knock downs.

Oh for sure, typical of us to make out of form players look like world beaters!

We’re just an outstanding LB who defends and quality cover for Velts from competing higher up the PL. I really mean that.

Studying 'emotional intelligence' for a Masters from Leeds Poly always struck me as a bit Jake Humphreyey.
You do a course in Emotional intelligence because you haven't got any. I think he really gets tactics but the human bit he really doesn't.

He's the sort of bloke that when he asks his Mrs if she's is OK she says "yes", sits in silence for 30 minutes, then gos to bed with his back to him muttering "don't touch me Graham"

He is lying there thinking "Nailed it. It's all fine"

The Jake Humphrey comparison is bang on.

Man who couldn't handle 50 Brighton fans booing after a 0-0 draw struggling at club with supporters as entitled as West Ham?

Who could have possibly seen this coming?
This is such an excellent point. He got shirty when some Brighton fans showed their frustration (in a very frustrating home game, during a very poor home run). West Ham fans don’t just demand success, they demand success the “West ‘Am way”, playing attacking football with skilful footballers he simply doesn’t have.

It was a bizarre choice of job to take at this stage. He must’ve looked at the squad and thought he saw enough - God knows what he saw.

While I think you’re right, I just think the door wasn’t getting battered down to acquire him in the way perhaps he thought would happen when the pay off period was ending. If location is a big factor for family reasons, he should’ve waited for the end of the season and taken the Spurs job on a much bigger pay packet and with a good deal better prospects.

Sometimes you see managers take jobs when a club is at their worst, so any improvement is seen as an upgrade and therefore makes them look like they’re achieving. West Ham was this under the hugely unpopular Lopetegui, but West Ham’s squad aside from Pacqueta (facing a possible career ending ban), Bowen and Kudus are relegation level.

Spurs on the other hand still have some excellent footballers and a dreadful head coach.

He took the wrong job.

I still think he thought he was genuinely in the running for the England and Man Utd jobs. Neither happened so he then condescended to do West Ham a favour. Not working out too well for all concerned currently. Still, at least he knows where he could have stayed if he wanted an easy life.

Never seen a manager interview like that Maybe should pop along to his house in Hove to check he is ok. Those WH supporters are hard to please Dont envy him if he has a poor start next season
Didnt cope well when team was jeered at Amex. Needs to learn some interview ways. Like Guadiola who when they couldnt win a game always came over well no excuses just said they were not good enough but had faith in players

Yeah, it can be hard on you when the FPL team you pick isn't going well
