They didn't know what to do with themselves. But also - usually when a goal is scored the fans start rising as the ball goes towards the net. But here there seemed to a slight pause before the reaction - as if people couldn't quite believe what had just happened.
Exactly that for us (WSL near the NW corner so no idea of how close it was)………he hit it, we saw the keeper wasn’t moving, assumed it was going wide (as usual)…..then the net rippled….assumed it must have took a deflection…….

The bend on the ball is artistry, completely fooled the GK - not sure it’s a one you could save by going late… it moves too much beyond normal reach… the perfect shot.

Why do goals look so much better when the GK doesn't move? I can only remember one goal as good and similar to that
and that was Eder's goal against SU in the 1982 WC.
