It's a bit slow ! To be honest if it doesn't speed up I may not be here next week as I will be superfluous. Actually that's not quite as tragic as it sonds as five agencies have already called me with alternatives starting next week which are both longer and better paid contracts. As it is I'll...
Actually earlier this year I posted on a thread DEFENDING them ! However, when all is said and dione there are some real tossers out there. Sometimes you can generalise about an agency but the good and the bad often sit side by side so usually it;s about individuals and not agencies.
One reason...
One of the few good things about being my age is that few employers want to know. As a matter of fact on the rare occasions I have looked at non IT jobs over the last ten years I have always been refused because they feel (quite rightly) that if I was offered an IT job I would take it. Even the...
That's true, you've never had to resort to washing up to make a living. Signing on is a fact of life for many these days but it's sometimes quite astonishing as to how ignorant of the situation so many people are.
Because i my relentless approach to getting work I start again on Monday morning. It's nothing great but it'll get me through until January. To those who are trying, just persevere.
Look, HB&B is obviously smarter than the rest of us. He's so clever that he thinks he's the first chancer to go into a Job Centre. Once he loses all his benefits he'll be even wiser.
Believe me, trying to be slippery or clever at the Job Centre will bring you a lot of grief. Be smart and just go along with what they ask, it's not rocket science.
No he hasn't, he's just trying to make out that being unemployed is no big deal. Silly really, as it's an attitude that won't get much sympathy bearing in mind how many on here are currently 'resting'.
I use Jobserve but recently I've been using Job Site as well. To be honest the Job Centre web site is quite useless. I actually had to complain about one form on there. They were advertising for PC engineers but only on an Ad Hoc basis. The problem was that they wanted you to pay £350 for...
All my work comes via email application so all I do it copy the applications from mu In box to a text file that I print off. I have only once had anybody query it (that was in Worthing) but as it tends to have rather a lot of applications on it they seldom bother.
Sadly that is the nature of the beast. As it happens several IT Recruiters have told me that people call up about roles that are available then try to negotiate better terms ! Quite how they haven't sussed out what's going on is beyond me.
I do too. I've been made redundant a few times in my life but that's not uncommon in my industry. It's fortunate though that I am flexible enough in my ability and attitude to get working again very quickly. I also don't have to worry about anybody but me. Truth be told I doubt that HB&B is...
