Was discussing the subject of Hasidic Jews with an Indian guy last night and he came up with another freaky lot .... Sikhs! Turbans and all that hair! And similarly they force their male children to follow the father's "hair style"!
Anti-Semitic? Moi?
This thread was not intended to be an anti-semitic.
I was, if you can remember that far back, saying that the hasidic jews looked like freaks and that they should not force their male kids to look the same.
Nothing said by me about the remainder of the jewish race. I certainly have nothing...
On the basis that you are not old enough to make a choice as a child, then I think my parents' way was the right way ... don't shoehorn the kid into a religion he knows nothing about ... let him make his own decisions when he's old enough.
What they did not say to me was ... there is no god...
Not sure that's true.
My parents, who were probably agnostics, brought me up with no religion forced on me. I was never baptised or communed (or whatever it's called). Their position was ... learn about ALL religions when you are old enough and if you feel so inclined choose one do so ...
Don't force your religious symbolism on your kids who are not old enough to make an educated decision as to whether they want to be frigging hasidic jews and look like freaks.
I have no problem with people dressing up if they want to ... it's a free world ... and if they want to look like...
No, I haven't been to Israel and have no desire to. Just as I haven't ever been to Saudi Arabia and have no desire to.
Not sure I can understand one word of what you're saying about catholics and habits. Guess I must be stupid.
And for clarity, I think you will find that the point of this post...
Anyone who believes this kind of crap must have a brain the size of a pea.
So a piece of wire is needed to allow you to "push things around" on a Saturday. Says who exactly?
And what the f*** does the Orthodox Jewish religious court know about anything?
And by the way, as far as I know our...
And don't they have this wire thing strung up around Golders Green for some stupid reason? If I lived in North London I'd be sorely tempted to go around one night with a pair of wire clippers and cut the thing down.
Stupid people.
Strangely enough, although there are plenty of Arabs in Manhattan, very few of the women wear the niqab. Proabaly still want to keep a low profile after 9/11. Sensible decision!
Parts of Manhattan are full of them.
OK, so if the adult men want to go around looking like freaks ... oversized black hats, ringlets, etc. ... then fair enough, but what pisses me off is that they force their male kids to dress the same way.
Bet their parents don't ask them, "Do you too want...
