Good information - but it isn’t far off backing up my claim. They cost a total of around £25m - a million more than the reported ‘with add ons’ fee Palace paid for Wharton.
You can’t possibly include the sell-on payments in the comparison.
We are looking (see Joao Pedro, for example), but as ever, we are looking for value. We literally bought Mac Allister, Caicedo, Buonanotte and Barco, combined for LESS than Palace paid for Wharton.
Barco and Buonanotte are more likely to be in the Olympic squad you'd think. They are both comfortably young enough, and miles off being NEEDED in their Copa squad.
Enciso is a bit more of a worry, given that he is one of Paraguay's few real stars, so will definitely be in their Copa squad...
The French are seemingly calling him up for the Olympics squad instead - so he still doesn't get the summer off - he'll just be getting tired and risking injury immediately before the start of the new PL season.
(As almost certainly will Barco, Buonanotte and Enciso! )
Japan need to be...
What a stupid suggestion.
FWIW I think we will draw with United on Sunday, and that you will beat a disinterested / hungover Villa. Placings between us will be down to a single goal GD or even GF, which is all pretty inconsequential in the scheme of things. If that comes to pass, I'll consider...
Ha. It actually WOULD apparently, IF the placings were to determine a European place, but as they don't, the clubs would be awarded an equal position.

If we DRAW 0-0, and Palace beat Villa 3-2 (or 1-1 and 4-3, etc) then the Albion and Palace will finish with identical tallies of 49pts / -5GD / 55GF / 60 GA...
That 'consolation' goal Welbeck scored last night, might just be important.
Indeed.
Olise signed for palace, when other clubs were interested, and seemingly insisted on a release clause (reported to have been £40m).
When it looked like he was agitating for a move last year, and Parish was generally under pressure - they offered him a new deal, basically throwing him...
Nah - let them get excited. It is, after all, the hope that kills you.
It will make it all the sweeter when, sat in 16th, they sack Glasner in January.
That doesn't seem a very wise bet for you to be honest. If Palace do have another poor season, then he'll just disappear as per, and you'll have no way of collecting on it.
Indeed - and you‘re probably right. But still about 4 places below us, if we get to wave the same magic wand, and have March, Mitoma, Hinshelwood and Joao Pedro fit for all season!
