    Is Keir really credible?

He's a knight of the realm, which is something he's earned unlike most of them. So whether you like him or not, it should be Sir Keir Starmer

    Is Keir really credible?

Unlikely in the foreseeable future. Though Corbyn did get a very good number of seats in his first election, so I see why there are plenty still banging this drum. But I agree with your general point. I’d like a socialist government, but I recognise that this is wholly unlikely, so rather...

You do need a lot of capital. But given renewable energy is 9 times cheaper than the energy we currently pay for, i'd say this a more profitable investment than allowing the very rich to keep more of their money. Oh and the fossil fuel industry won't invest significantly in renewables. It was...

    Is Keir really credible?

Well, that can be debated, but it stands that lots of people voted for him and if Keir can successfully project "a bit like Blair", he'll win an overall majority at the next election.

    Is Keir really credible?

The thing about Blair though is that a lot of people liked him and a lot of people voted for him. That number will increase further if McClusky and Long Bailey don't clap his speech

    Is Keir really credible?

What a massive day for Sir Keir. A 17 point lead. Odds on to be the next PM. Tories in a reputation trashing, death spiral. Massive day for him and for British politics. I'll be watching him today and wishing him well.

    Is Keir really credible?

He would of course need a seat As luck would have it, there is one likely to be available soon, due to an MP stepping down, but personally I don't see Starmer parachuting Burnham into it

    Is Keir really credible?

They care about the over-riding impression that the UK is being run by a party with a heady combination of ideological fervour, detachment from economic reality and rank stupidity And yes i'm distracted and upset by the 45% tax rate. It's morally wrong and economically stupid and at some point...

    Is Keir really credible?

Again. Nope. If poorer people have money they will spend it in the real economy if it goes to the rich, they'll likely offshore it or buy more oil stocks or property or something.

    Is Keir really credible?

A far left fiscal policy? Abandoning the top rate of tax? Lifting rules on bankers bonuses? No no A far left policy would involve higher taxes and higher redistribution. Not lower taxes and concentrating wealth at the top.

    Is Keir really credible?

Well, when he was Director of Public Prosecutions, pursuing those suspected of embezzlement would have come under his remit. As Prime Minister he might be able to put more info into the public domain, but going after suspected criminals won't be his responsibility.

    Is Keir really credible?

Happy for you to elaborate. Though I think you'll struggle to come up with much that will even survive the mildest scrutiny otherwise you'd have put it on your initial response.

    Is Keir really credible?

In terms of electoral reform, it's proponents need to coalesce around an alternative and get out there and sell it. It's all very well saying that the current system has given us the worst government in 100 years, but where's the positive case for the alternative? All I see is various comments...

    Is Keir really credible?

Is Sir Kier really credible? Yes. I think he is credible. He's a thoughtful and measured man. He would run the country professionally and competently. He's jumping through the millions of hoops any labour leader needs to jump through to get Labour elected right now, but once he's in...
