Taylor Swift all but confirmed. When 2020 was cancelled Emily Eavis said she’d agreed to play it next time she toured the UK. She’s kept both possible weekends free next year. The rumour is Sam Fender/Taylor Swift/Madonna. Sure it’ll be as fantastic as always.

I absolutely love that Paul McCartney was spotted at the side of loads of acts this weekend and rumoured to be the special guest at almost all of them but was actually just there to hang out and enjoy the festival. Glastonbury is nuts.

Remarkable to think there’s something better for her to do this evening than this. Far more powerful having the crowd sing her part regardless.

Some cultural moment this. Elton absolutely blowing this out of the water for the final time, on the world’s most famous stage. Sensational.

Elton’s crowd is absolutely larger than Dolly’s was. Must be pushing 200,000 in that field. Overhead shots are something else on the UHD stream.

Secret set innit. Wasn’t billed even if it was one of the worst kept secrets this year. Took the same spot The Killers did in 2017 so actually quite a big spot for them to get.

He’s on Facebook live, drunk again, burning pictures of Elton And David Furness looking happy together in protest tonight I’m afraid.

Lil Nas X with one of the most out there sets you’ll ever see. Absolutely killing it, what a man. He’s a game changer.

I wondered the same before I went. In short, no. The flags are a lot higher up than it looks on tele and the Pyramid is on a slope meaning you get a pretty good view regardless of where you are. People on shoulders as normal, only affects you if you’re unlucky enough get someone directly in...

Pretty good though. And none of the far-right racism to worry about that you’d get with Morrissey. Johnny Marr on site to play with The Pretenders on the Park Stage if you want the real thing (rumours that Grohl will be joining in the fun there too).

An absolutely enormous crowd for Capaldi, whilst I don’t actively listen to him he’s quite a loveable personality. What a glorious image.

Lots seem to be very annoyed that they had a bit of a tantrum at the Radio One Big Weekend. They were sandwiched between Niall Horan and Lewis Capaldi, dreadful scheduling and an unappreciative crowd. Seem to be going down well here.

When I went last, over a decade ago, it had hot tubs (pretty grim tbh and sponsored by some corporate giant), more sponsorship than you could imagine (it's festival republic's big money spinner after all), plenty of spoken word poetry stuff, and it has hosted (thanks to a quick google) George...

Of course Reading is middle-class. It's a £300 piss up for 16 year olds who have just got their GCSE results. It's always been middle-class as f*** in my lifetime. Not the point either. Ultimately, live music is ridiculously expensive at the moment. General admission for All Points East (1 day)...

Send ol' Hattie (lol) to Reading Festival at the end of August and we'll get an article about how the youth of today are too rough and tumble for her. Some papers and people just love to hate on things people enjoy.

Watched the We Love Glastonbury programme on iPlayer and got a little emotional. It's the best place on earth. Gutted as always not to be there.

Sandwiched between the Foos and Arctic Monkeys will probably give them one of the biggest crowds of the weekend. What a moment! Wish I was there 😭
