5 or 6 is my thinking, based on my ā€œwe’re a mid-table team which wins some games, draws some games and loses some gamesā€ thinking.

I so so hope you are right. Not for the 1st time a bit of self reflection after woeful tactical performances could spell and up tick
Entirely what I’m basing my prediction on….. pure hope.

For @Flounce not changing my opinion on FH, but Welbeck’s comments offered hope that there is some self-realisation within the squad that they are underperforming

You’ve already forgotten our recent run? 😃

No, but there are some other factors to deal with........................Georginio & Rutter, Webster, Veltman, Van Hecke, etc. are out with knocks. And Dunk doesn't know to use a "u" umlaut for his own manager's name. Things could never get worse.

I got up this morning and decided that I have had too much to say on FH and his shortcomings already, so am stepping away from any more comments to stop boring other posters with my banging on

We only need 1 win to equal our second best ever Premier League total and still have a slim chance of Europe in some form or other. Yet it feels disappointing, despite having to rebuild a team under a rookie Premier League manager - you know, the youngest ever. Trouble is, a great start raised hopes of Europe and a late season streak burnished those hopes in to a decent possibility of an appearance at Wembley and a place in the Europa League, if not Champions League. Then injuries, loss of form and some frustrating mistakes/decision making smashed all hope to smithereens. It will probably be our second best ever season and we will feel flat and disappointed. I think I'd rather not have Europe or a Cup run next time around. Just fine tune everything and have a great season in the Prem and consolidate the squad for another tilt at qualifying for the Europa League.

We need a big performance on Saturday.
Fulham and Bournemouth also have winnable games.
Anything less than a win will make 8th place exceptionally unlikely.

West Ham are in a similar state to ourselves and both clubs need a reaction for their fans.
Potter's return should provide a bit of a pantomime performance.

Let's hope that's enough to give us one last tilt at the European places.

Head says 5 heart would love 11.

Whatever the respective merits of IN/OUT I fail to see a single example where FZ motivational skills have resulted in a spell binding performance that blew the other team away. Individual brilliance - Mitoma several times to the astonishment of his team mates, Welbz by example, or Rutter through sheer impudence and ability - have at times triggered excellent match winning spells but watching FZ post match comments several times on youtube just leaves me feeling like he's got the motivational skills of a mid level executive at a regional insurance company rather than the youngest Premier league manager in history.

That's an interesting point.

And I suspect you may be right. He certainly is no De Zerbi (which may be a good thing)

I still believe.
I said 4 games ago we needed 5 wins from 9 games, at the time we were on a 7 match unbeaten run (6 wins 1 draw).
Well we still have 5 games to go so in theory it's still on.

RDZ's final 5 games brought 4 points. He'd gone 6 games without a win in the 2nd half of the season.

Including the Forest Cup game, FH's on 6 games without a win already. He's really got to get one soon, and ideally one at home.

So there's an awful lot riding on the West Ham game for these 5 points with little evidence in defence to suggest that we'll stop them from scoring.

W: West Ham (H)
D: Wolves (A) & Spurs (A)
L: Newcastle (H) & Liverpool (H)
