TEAM NEWS

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank is likely to name the same squad that faced Arsenal last weekend.

Defender Aaron Hickey has a chance of being involved after almost 18 months on the sidelines, while Fabio Carvalho, Josh Dasilva and Igor Thiago remain long-term absentees.

Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma is available after missing last weekend's clash with Leicester due to a heel injury.

Defender Jan Paul van Hecke returns after serving a suspension but the Seagulls are still without at least six first-team players, including Tariq Lamptey and Ferdi Kadıoğlu.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

  • Brentford's only victory over Brighton in seven Premier League meetings was by 2-0 at home in October 2022 (D3, L3).
  • Brentford have never lost at home to Brighton in the month of April, winning four and drawing two of those league and cup clashes.
Brentford
  • Brentford are winless in eight Premier League games on home soil (D3, L5), having previously won five in a row at the Brentford Community Stadium.
  • The 2-1 victory at Bournemouth in March is their only win in six top-flight matches (D3, L2).
  • Thomas Frank's side have faced 562 shots in the league this term, already their most in a Premier League campaign.
  • Yoane Wissa's goal at the Emirates last weekend was his 15th Premier League strike of the season, with Brentford the first side to have two players score 15 or more goals this term. Team-mate Bryan Mbeumo has scored 16.
  • The Bees are only the second team to have two African players score 15 Premier League goals in a season, emulating Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané in 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2021-22.
Albion
  • Brighton are winless in four Premier League matches (D2, L2), conceding at least twice each time.
  • Fabian Hürzeler's side have won just once in four top-flight away games (D1, L2), a 4-0 victory at Southampton in February.
  • They have not won any of their last eight league fixtures played in April since a 6-0 thrashing of Wolves in 2023 (D2, L5).
  • The Seagulls have dropped 20 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season. It's the second time they've lost as many in a single campaign in the division, following 2020-21 (25).
  • Nine of Brighton's last 12 Premier League goals have come from set-piece situations, including penalties.
  • João Pedro has scored half of his 30 Brighton goals in all competitions from the penalty spot.
  • The Brazilian's next goal will be his 20th in the Premier League for the club.

Hoping for a win to keep us in the 'battle for 8th' mix and get some confidence back after 4 disappointing results.
This. We need to win the game to keep our European hopes alive.
