He obviously wants to play for Gus - let him go for as much as we can get and reinvest the proceeds.
Thanks for posting, I imagine no fee was mentioned or you would have said! I'm going to cross my fingers for £4m. Now let's PLEASE keep Barnes and PIG.
I think you've answered your own question with "The later in the widow you do the business, the higher the fee."!
If by 'quicker' you mean, more long ball, then I'd agree.
In both instances (under Gus and Oscar), they take the approach of passing it around in an attempt to bring the opponents into a smaller gathering, before pinging the ball to someone in space. However, under Oscar, the ball isn't played through the midfield any quicker than it was under Gus; it is however, got forward earlier by greater use of the 'long ball' or 'long pass'.
Regarding the pace of the game, I presume you missed the Reading game then?
You could say the same of Barcelona under Pep Guardiola
Ki - but that would never happen.
However you also run the risk of losing the deal completely. Imagine the club plays hardball, Sunderland then find another target and sign him, Bridcutt gets p*ssed off we didn't let him move to the premier league and so refuses to sign a new deal and next january has less than 6 months left and leaves for nothing.
You are also ignoring the fact that Bridcutt may have a release clause in his contract that could be lower than we'd like. When did he last sign a contract/extension?
Neither Tony nor Poyet like doing business in January we are continually told, so it's as you were until the summer.
He signed a contract extension not so long ago as well.
I think he is worth at least £4M. I would be very disappointed if he went for less.
I'm not ignoring anything. We will not rush negotiations / be steamrollered into a deal. He signed a contract extension not so long ago as well.

Barca slightly more entertaining! ;-)
I'm already resigned to him going, now it's just a question of how much we can get. 4 Mill would be fair.

Means nothing sadly. Just a short term wage increase for the player and means we can hold out for a little more WONGA.
