Brighton plumber wanted

I'm looking for a plumber to fix a leaky tap. (before anyone says anything, I know it sounds like a simple job but it's not as I can't turn the water off, so I need to get the pipes frozen).

There have been plenty of requests for plumbers on here before but the only one mentioned by name is Rowdey's brother. I've tried him several times but get voicemail and he doesn't return calls, so must be really busy.

Anyone know anyone else?

If you cant turn the water off what are you going to do if you have a serious leak? I suggest that you look into that problem first, are you in a flat? if not and you have an outside stopcock that is unusable then you should contact your water supplier to replace it ASAP, Though I am qualified myself I'm no longer in the game, Adur plumbing is who I would recommend, but there are other working plumbers who use the board.

We don't have an outside stopcock at all. I thought this was illegal but having checked, it's not and Southern Water is under no obligation to install a stopcock. We do have an internal stopcock but I can't budge it - I need a plumber to fix our tap but also provide a way of turning it off and on.

Get your plumber to install one of these. He'll probably need to turn the mains water off first with your bust stop cock, but these are genius...

I assume southern water have directly refused to fit one? I find that quite strange, I'll look into the rules and let you know if I find anything of interest.
